Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Arsenal survived a scare to grind out a win over Huddersfield Town to boost their hopes of finishing inside the top four.

The Gunners raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette.

But Town responded well, but their goal came too late to provide more pressure in pursuit of a point, with Sead Kolasinac putting through his own net in stoppage time.

Relive the action as it happened above.

GOAL! Liverpool 3-0 Bournemouth (Salah 48')

Game. Set. Match. Salah is played in by the brilliant Firmino, who feigns a shot and plays it into the path of the Egyptian, who finishes into the corner.

Miss of the season klaxon.

The hosts should be level, but Patrick van Aanholt plays in MacArthur, who, after feigning to shoot several times, fires against the post with the whole of the goal to aim at and Fabianski lying on the floor.

HITS THE WOODWORK!

Ben Foster IS beaten this time by an Everton player, but Gylfi Sigurddson's effort comes back off the crossbar!

Slow, drab, tepid. Any of these adjectives currently describe events at St Mary's.

Very, very poor from both sides so far.

The hosts are turning on the style and it could so easily be 4-0, but Mane, who opened the scoring, heads Wijnaldum's cross just wide.

And the substitute nearly makes an instant impact.

Elneny tries to meet Iwobi's cross but is prevented from doing so by Lacazette and the chance goes.
