Anthony Knockaert thumped in a sensational winner as Brighton beat rivals Crystal Palace in a pulsating game on Saturday afternoon.

Glenn Murray opened the scoring in the first-half against his former team before Luka Milovojevic's scored from the spot to level matters after the break.

But the bragging rights were stolen late as Knockaert cut in from right and curled in an unstoppable left-foot strike into the top corner.

Zaha goes close! The ball breaks perfectly for him in the box and he looks certain to convert. But Dunk makes a crucial block to divert Zaha's effort wide. From the resulting corner, Schlupp goes close but guides his shot wide.

Crystal Palace 0-1 Brighton

The home fans have been subdued since Brighton's goal. The visitors are frustrating their opposition, defending resolutely and, so far, carrying out Chris Hughton's gameplan perfectly.

Palace win the ball in midfield and burst forward. Zaha collects the ball on the left but he's immediately crowded out by several green shirts. The ball is eventually worked out to Townsend, whose shot is blocked. Brighton look assured defensively so far.

Brighton defend another Palace corner and get back into their shape. The home side look bereft of ideas in attack.

Batshuayi and Schlupp link up nicely on the edge of Brighton's box and the former is set through on goal. Ryan and Dunk are out quickly, though, to cut off the former Chelsea man. The visitors are determined to hold onto this lead.

This is better from Palace as half time approaches. McArthur is picked out the box and tries to curl a shot into the far corner. It's deflected just wide and Brighton, once again, head clear the corner.

Half time: There's a penalty appeal on the stroke of half time, but the referee ignores Tomkins' appeals. Brighton go in with their lead intact. Chris Hughton's side have defended impressively since Murray's excellent finish gave them the lead, and they'll hope for a similar half of football after the break.

Glenn Murray is the man of the moment again. Palace will be sick of the sight of their former striker by now.

Brighton get us back underway at Selhurst Park.
