From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea are two points off joint-leaders Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League, but did comfortably win 3-1 at home to BATE Borisov in the Europa League this week and have only dropped two points away from home so far.

It’s a big game for…
Joe Hart: Former England number one Joe Hart has only kept two clean sheets in nine league appearances this season, and will want to bounce back after conceding five on his return to the Etihad stadium last Saturday. With Tom Heaton back fit, the 31-year-old will want to avoid a similar display this Sunday against Chelsea not only for his team’s sake, but to keep his place in the starting XI also.
Weird stat…
10: If the Blues avoid defeat on Sunday, Maurizio Sarri will become the first Chelsea manager in the Premier League era to remain unbeaten throughout his first 10 games in charge.
Remember when…
Burnley stunned champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the opening day of last season. After Gary Cahill was sent off for a reckless challenge early on, Sam Vokes’ double and Stephen Ward’s strike put Burnley 3-0 ahead at half-time. Chelsea clawed two goals back in the second-half, but Sean Dyche’s men held out for a famous win.
Player to watch…
Mateo Kovacic: Despite Ruben Loftus-Cheek netting a hat-trick in the Europa League this week and Ross Barkley’s good form, Maurizio Sarri is likely to stick with Mateo Kovacic who has impressed so far this season. Wearing Eden Hazard’s old number 17 shirt, the 24-year-old on loan from Real Madrid has similar traits to the Belgian, and his creativity and slickness complements the robustness and power of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho at the heart of Chelsea’s midfield.
Past three-meetings…
Burnley 1 (Barnes) Chelsea (Long OG, Moses), Premier League, April 2018
Chelsea 2 (Morata, Luiz) Burnley 3 (Vokes 2, Ward), Premier League, August 2017
Burnley 1 (Brady) Chelsea 1 (Pedro), Premier League, February 2017

GOAL! Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal (Aubameyang 56')
What a turn around from Emery's side. A corner is swung in and the Gabon striker is on hand to poke over the line.
GOAL! Burnley 0-2 Chelsea (Barkley 57')
That is the best of Ross Barkley there. He had scored in his last two games and he makes it three by driving forward before smashing in a left-foot shot into the bottom corner from 25 yards out.
GOAL! Burnley 0-3 Chelsea (Willian 63')
The Brazilian has been threatening to do it all afternoon and he finally does. He cuts inside and this time gets his angles right, and a deflection off the defender takes it away from Hart and into the corner.
65 min: Burnley 0-3 Chelsea
Change for Burnley as Ashley Barnes replaces Jeff Hendrick.
67 min: Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal
Palace have responded well after Arsenal's four-minute blitz, and substitute Max Meyer nearly levels it up but fires over on the turn.
Meanwhile, fellow German Mesut Ozil goes off in a strop as he is replaced by Danny Welbeck.
Twenty minutes to go in both fixtures. Where will the points go at Selhurst Park? How many more will Chelsea add at Turf Moor?
72 min: Burnley 0-3 Chelsea
It is getting worse for Sean Dyche. Jack Cork heads off injured following a clash with Ross Barkley and is replaced by Ashley Westwood.
Meanwhile Olivier Giroud comes on for the visitors for Alvaro Morata, who had been booked.
75 min: Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal
Arsenal have had to ride a Palace fightback in the last twenty minutes but they create another chance through Alex Iwobi. The Nigerian has his shot blocked behind for a corner though with Lacazette well placed.
78 min: Burnley 0-3 Chelsea
Olivier Giroud hasn't scored much lately, but he nearly ends that drought here. Another chipped ball from Jorginho finds the onrushing Willian who sets up the Frenchman.
However the former Arsenal man curls his first-time effort wide of the far post.
