From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser struck equalisers just three minutes apart as Bournemouth salvaged a madcap 3-3 Premier League draw with Watford.
Troy Deeney's early brace had Watford 2-0 to the good, before Nathan Ake and Wilson had Bournemouth level - but for less than a minute.
Ken Sema fired in from Deeney's knock-down to nudge Watford into a 3-2 lead, but one the Hornets could only hold for two minutes.
The excellent Fraser's composed finish drew Bournemouth level at 3-3 before half-time, and despite a clutch of Cherries chances after the break, so the scores remained. Re-live the action below:

Player to watch
Abdoulaye Doucoure: The French midfielder will be delighted with how his season has gone heading into the New Year with three goals and four assists. He came on off the bench last weekend to grab his side a late point against Newcastle. His superb performances have caught the eye of big clubs including PSG and Liverpool. With the form he’s on, he’ll definitely prove a handful for Bournemouth.

Prediction
Bournemouth 2-1 Watford: Bournemouth have had a very poor month but they’ve played some tough opponents and are suffering from injuries. I fancy them to edge through this one though against a slowing Watford.
Wolves 0-0 Crystal Palace, 5 minutes
Jordan Ayew moves beyond the Wolves defence down the right but can't link up with Wilfried Zaha waiting for his cross in the middle.
Huddersfield 0-0 Burnley, 7 minutes
Philip Billing knows how to hit them, but on this occasion rather skews his low shot wide from an Alex Pritchard lay-off.
Huddersfield 0-0 Burnley, 9 minutes
Steve Mounie takes to the skies with an acrobatic hook towards goal, but his overhead kick flies over the crossbar.
Almost ready to go at the Vitality Stadium and St James' Park, with the players making their way onto the pitch on the South Coast and in the North East.
West Ham 0-0 Brighton, 12 minutes
Marko Arnautovic receives the ball in a forward area for the first time after excellent work from Felipe Anderson, but the Austrian is leaning back rather and doesn't manage to get his shot on target.
Underway at St James' Park. Will Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's winning run continue?
Newcastle 0-0 Manchester United, 1 minute
Five across the back from Newcastle with Matt Ritchie and DeAndre Yedlin in the wing back berths.
A 4-2-3-1 with Paul Pogba ahead of Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic sitting appears to be the Manchester United system.
Newcastle 0-0 Manchester United, 3 minutes
First sighting of Marcus Rashford driving at the Newcastle defence. Rashford rides a couple of challenges but not that of Paul Dumbest, sliding across to take the ball cleanly.
Newcastle 0-0 Manchester United, 4 minutes
Juan Mata and Anthony Martial fail to link up in the Newcastle box, but Paul Pogba recovers the loose ball.
A nonchalant no-look knock past a defender opens space for the Frenchman, who drives left-footed across goal but fails to truly trouble Martin Dubravka in the Newcastle goal.
