From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Bournemouth take on Crystal Palace at the Vitality Stadium as two of the Premier League's mid-table staples bid to stake a claim for the top half of the league.

Palace come into the game three points behind the Cherries having ended a run of three straight defeats with a win over Huddersfield and a frustrating goalless draw against Newcastle.

Bournemouth's fast start to the season came to a strange halt at Burnley where they were thrashed 4-0, but Eddie Howe's side can climb up to seventh in the table with all three points tonight.

57 minutes

First alteration for the hosts. Dan Gosling comes on for the goalscorer David Brooks. A tactical switch from Eddie Howe, with Joshua King moved out to the left and Ryan Fraser moved the right. Gosling into a three-man midfield.

It nearly pays immediate dividends as King gets his head to a cross and finds Callum Wilson lurking six yards out. He is offside and flagged as such, and the striker's attempt is wild anyway.

Firmly in the balance.

A potent attack down Bournemouth's right lead by Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson earns a corner which Fraser will take.

The box is loaded and Luka Milivojevic just about manages to prevent a volleyed strike.

Nathan Ake should do better! Joshua King curls a right-footed cross and Ake is in acres of space but completely fails to get any kind of purchase on the whipped ball.

It deflects off Mamadou Sakho for a corner but the set-piece comes to nothing.

Bournemouth have reclaimed control of the fixture and are starting to overwhelm with the extra body in midfield.

But Palace can now attack and Andros Townsend (now on the left) crosses, but it comes to nothing.

Townsend now picks the ball up 25 yards out and cuts inside onto his unfamiliar right foot. Predictably his shot bounces comfortably wide.

I wonder if Roy Hodgson may be considering a change. A few of the Palace players look a little leggy. Max Meyer goes down after running into Jefferson Lerma. Nothing doing.

Ebbing and flowing like the Severn Estuary now.

Bournemouth can't force a clear opportunity despite moving the ball around well in the final third.

Ryan Fraser goes down in midfield but Bournemouth are nearly in behind, Callum Wilson unable to corral the ball effectively as Aaron Wan-Bissaka recovers.

Fraser appears to be in a little discomfort but he soldiers on for the time being at least.
