From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Bournemouth take on Crystal Palace at the Vitality Stadium as two of the Premier League's mid-table staples bid to stake a claim for the top half of the league.

Palace come into the game three points behind the Cherries having ended a run of three straight defeats with a win over Huddersfield and a frustrating goalless draw against Newcastle.

Bournemouth's fast start to the season came to a strange halt at Burnley where they were thrashed 4-0, but Eddie Howe's side can climb up to seventh in the table with all three points tonight.

Ahead of tonight's fixture, Roy Hodgson has issued a call to arms to his side to ease the goalscoring pressure on Wilfried Zaha:

On to the pitch emerge the 22 men prepared to do battle under the bright lights at the Vitality Stadium.

Mike Dean is the experienced man-in-the-middle for this one.

Bournemouth get proceedings under way.

An early touch for David Brooks on Bournemouth's right, but he is crowded out.

James Tomkins sprays a pass out for a throw to the hosts.

Nearly! Bournemouth work the space well when Patrick Van Aanholt steps out and Callum Wilson feeds Brooks in behind. His square ball rolls agonisingly past Joshua King, who could have perhaps given greater effort to try to get to it.

An excellent opportunity early on.

Good one touch passing through midfield from the Cherries, who have started brightly.

A FIRST BOURNEMOUTH GOAL FOR DAVID BROOKS PUTS BOURNEMOUTH AHEAD!

What a start for the home side!

The Cherries move the ball efficiently down their left. Callum Wilson finds space on the edge of the area and caresses a well-weighted ball across to Brooks. The Welsh international curls a left-footed shot gorgeously into the top corner and it cannons into the net off the underside of the bar.

A deserved lead even so early on, it must be said.

First opening for Palace when an attempt to play out from the back by Bournemouth goes awry. A Jefferson Lerma lunge gives them a free-kick on the left-hand edge of the box.

Luka Milivojevic will take...

Deflected wide off the wall.
