England dropping Rooney is not my problem, says Mourinho
There are no winners in Evans rape case
Ince: Lose against United and you've let everyone down
Will Leicester ever dediscover their winning touch?
The key questions facing the big six this weekend
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said on Friday that Wayne Rooney being dropped by England as well as Manchester United was not his problem but that the player was positive ahead of Monday’s match at Liverpool.
In a testy press conference during which he was reluctant to engage with most of the questions, Mourinho was asked if he felt it had been a difficult period for Rooney. “That’s not my problem. England’s not my problem,” he said. Asked about the 30-year-old’s current mental state, he added: “He is good he is prepared, he is training well and is positive.”
Arsenal will be looking to exorcise their demons today having struggled against Swansea on numerous occasions in the recent past. The Swans have become something of a 'bogey team' for the Gunners.
Indeed, the visitors are chasing a third consecutive win at the Emirates today, and are unbeaten in their last four league games there. Arsenal have won just one of their last five league games against Swansea, losing three in total.
Arsenal welcome Swansea to the Emirates Stadium
2 min: A steady start as Arsenal patiently stroke the ball along the back four, waiting for the right opportunity to press forward. The space finally opens up as Ozil is picked out by Mustafi and the German drives forward, looking options ahead of him. He eventually releases play out wide but the attack fizzles out as Iwobi is successfully closed down.
7 min: It's Walcott's turn to shine now as he dances his way into the box, shimmies one way, and then puts his foot down on the accelerator to burst in the other direction towards the right-hand side dead ball line. He fizzes his delivery back across the face of the goal but Sanchez fails to make anything of it.
10 min: Swansea with the break this time. Barrow surges towards the Arsenal goal from the right, going shoulder-to-shoulder with Monreal in the process. He almost gets the better of the defender as the two enter into the box but Monreal puts all his might into a last-ditch barge to successfully, and legally, force the Swansea man off the ball.
13 min: Chance for Mustafi! The German gets his head onto a free-kick delivery inside the Swansea box but Fabianski is on hand to palm the effort away. It's pretty dominant stuff from the Gunners so far.
42 min: Sigurdsson's goal has really helped to change the dynamics of the game as the visitors start to pin Arsenal back in their own final third. It's worked down the left but Bellerin is on hand to deal with the threat. He snatches possession back and kick-starts a swift counter-attack which eventually culminates in a corner ball from the right-hand side.
