This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Liverpool vs Everton
Klopp will be urging his side to pick up where they left off as they look to use their man advantage. His side have looked dangerous on the attack, but they need to test Pickford more often. As for Dyche, he'll be pleased that they managed to get through to the break without conceding - it'll be all about staying strong defensive as they look to try and see this out in the second half.

It's goalless at the break as 10-man Everton hold on against Liverpool. The Reds dominated the first half, but it could've been a much different story had Calvert-Lewin scored his first-minute header. Young received two yellow cards for fouls on Diaz, with the second seeing him dismissed in the 37th minute. Alexander-Arnold and Szoboszlai both came close for the hosts, but Pickford only had one save to make in the first half, denying Mac Allister.

Jota slaloms his way into the box before tripping over Doucoure, who is already on the floor. There are cries for a penalty from the Liverpool fans and players, but the referee says no.

Pickford lifts it over the top for Calvert-Lewin, but it hits his chest and rolls back to Alisson. He sets Liverpool on the counter once more, and Szoboszlai takes on a powerful shot from just outside the box, but there isn't enough dip on it.

Tsimikas' corner is flicked on by Diaz, and Onana does well to hook it away under pressure. The left-back gets it once more and takes it to the byline before putting another cross in, but again, Onana is there to clear the danger.

Tarkowski got in the way of Szoboszlai's shot and goes down winded, but Liverpool carry on. Szoboszlai picks out Alexander-Arnold, who fizzes a delightful cross into the box, but none of his team-mates can get a touch.

GOOD CHANCE! McNeil has three Liverpool defenders around him, but he manages to find a pocket of space as he curls a shot on goal. It takes a slight nick off Van Dijk which has Alisson scrambling, but it sails over.

GREAT CHANCE! Liverpool are piling the pressure on the visitors now and Van Dijk sees a header deflected out for a corner. Tsimikas' outswinger is cleared as far as Alexander-Arnold, who catches it sweetly on the volley, and it flies just over the crossbar.
