From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. ARTETA SAYS GUNNERS ARE WORKING ON DEADLINE DAY DEALS

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says that Gunners have an idea of who will be leaving the club on deadline day but the unpredictability of the transfer window may influence plans.

He also acknowledged the interest in Ainsley Maitland-Niles but wasn’t particularly illuminating with his insight. He said:

Well the last day of the transfer window is always unpredictable, so things can happen. They might happen, they might not happen. We are on it. We have decided [who is leaving] and we are working on it.

"I don’t know [about Maitland-Niles], I cannot speak about any individual players. We know what we want to do, the conversations we’ve had, which are for various reasons. Let’s see if we can get something done tonight.

"We are discussing things with some players and some clubs. If we make anything before the deadline, it’s because we believe it is the right thing for the development."
