The January window closes at 11pm GMT and before then Liverpool are hoping to sign a centre-back, with Preston defender Ben Davies arriving permanently with Schalke’s Ozan Kabak joining him until the summer. Manchester United are looking to complete final exits with defender Marcos Rojo set to join Boca Juniors in his native Argentina, and Phil Jones and Sergio Romero set to depart in the summer if not today. Arsenal are also facing a decision on a defender’s departure as bids come in for Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Southampton, West Brom, Newcastle and Leicester are all thought to be jostling in the queue for the England international.
Elsewhere Leicester want Watford midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah, Paris Saint-Germain’s Idrissa Gueye has rejected a loan move to Newcastle United, and Christian Eriksen’s future remains up in the air with Tottenham interested in securing his services on loan until the end of the season, after last night’s disappointing defeat at Brighton. Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin is heading for Galatasaray but Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour is staying put after a U-turn from new boss Thomas Tuchel. And in France, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in taking Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos to join Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

CHALOBAH TO LEICESTER UNLIKELY
Leicester city have been linked with a move of Watford’s Nathaniel Chalobah but the Hornets were reluctant to let him go without a replacement on the way.
Newcastle’s Matty and Sean Longstaff had both been seen as possible alternatives but neither want to make the move happen.
Because of this Chalobah is unlikely to leave Watford before the 11pm deadline according to The Athletic’s Adam Leventhal:
BAAH SIGNS FOR MAN CITY
Manchester City have agreed to sign Rochdale’s star teenage forward Kwadwo Baah.
18-year-old Baah has been in decent form for Brian Barry-Murphy’s League One side this season scoring three goals.
Baah’s contract with Rochdale runs out in the summer and it is understood that the youngster will sign a pre-contract agreement with City and join up with them at the end of the current season.
He is expected to be loaned out next season, most likely to a Championship club.
HARWOOD-BELLIS JOINS BLACKBURN
Manchester City youngster Taylor Harwood-Bellis has signed for Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season.
KENNY COMPLETES CELTIC MOVE
Everton’s Jonjoe Kenny has completed his loan move to Celtic until the end of the season.
LIVERPOOL SET TO BRING IN TWO CENTRE-BACKS
Liverpool are looking to bring in two centre-backs before the 11pm deadline.
Schalke’s Ozan Kabak and Preston’s Ben Davies have both passed medicals today with just the paperwork needing to be signed before the official announcements are made.

MUSTAFI CONTRACT TERMINATED
Fabrizio Romano says Shkodran Mustafi has agreed terms with Arsenal to end his contract at the Emirates. This is to ensure he can join Schalke before the 5pm German deadline. If that deal goes through Ozan Kabak will be free to join Liverpool later in the day:
TANGANGA LATEST
Japhet Tanganga has been told he will be staying at Tottenham despite interest from elsewhere.
Southampton and Celtic were both keen on signing the defender on loan but it now looks as though he’ll be staying at Spurs.
NO VALENCIA MOVE FOR NELSON
Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson is heavily being rumoured as a potential export during this window with Spanish side Valenica wanting to bring him in on loan.
However, Fabrizio Romano says that move is not happening as their is no agreement between the two sides.
There are other clubs interested in Nelson but it becomes ever more likely that he’ll remain at Arsenal by the time the deadline arrives.
VAN DEN BERG SET FOR PRESTON LOAN
Sepp van den Berg has arrived at Preston North End to get his medical is underway ahead of a proposed loan move from Liverpool.
Preston centre-back Ben Davies is also undergoing a medical today in order to move the other way and join the Reds at Anfield.
