From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Arsenal‘s £40m bid for Wilfried Zaha was swiftly knocked back by Crystal Palace, however, the Gunners are still prioritising the winger over Malcom, who has reportedly been offered to the club by Barcelona. Meanwhile, another Barca star could be on his way to the Premier League after the odds on Ousmane Dembele making a switch to Liverpool overnight. Elsewhere, Juventus have lodged an opening £58.3m offer for Dutch centre-back Matthijs de Ligt. Follow all the day’s transfer news live below:

West Ham are set to accept a £22.4m offer from Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG for Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic.

Arnautovic has made it clear for the second time in as many transfer windows that he would like to leave east London after having his head turned by a lucrative offer from China.

The Daily Echo reports that Southampton will only consider allowing midfielder Mario Lemina leave on a permanent deal rather than a season-long loan.

Lemina struggled with injuries last season and reports in Italy have suggested that Atalanta are interested in the Gabon international.

The Gunners have already dipped into the Brazilian market this summer with the signing of 18-year-old forward Gabriel Martinelli.

Kannemann would represent a much cheaper option than the likes of Barcelona's Samuel Umtiti and Saint-Etienne’s William Saliba.
