From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Arsenal's move for Dani Ceballos could be in doubt, with Marco Asensio's ACL injury causing problems for Real Madrid and their plans.

Zinedine Zidane is admittedly concerned: "It has nothing to do with one thing. We are all touched by Marco, hopefully as little as possible, just that,” said Zidane.

“We're a little worried (by Asensio). It's the knee. He went straight to the hospital to get tested and see. But it looks bad. It's the bad thing of the day for us. because we lose a player and we are a little touched, yes.”

Sky Sports are reporting that Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye looks set to sign for PSG.

The two clubs have agreed the fee, believed to be in the region of £28 million, and the player’s wage negotiations are not expected to pose a problem, bringing his three-year stay at Goodison Park to an end.

It is thought that Everton are unwilling to approve the move until they have brought in a suitable replacement, with manager Marco Silva insisting the arrival of Fabian Delph from Manchester City does mean Gueye would be leaving Goodison Park.

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo would not comment on the speculation surrounding the transfer of striker Patrick Cutrone during his press conference before Wolves' Europa League qualifier first leg with Belfast club Crusaders.

Nuno refused to comment on any specific transfer targets but admitted the club is working behind the scenes in order to get some deals over the line.

"We know what we have to do. Approaches in the market are being done by the club."

"We still have time and things will go normally and as expected. We don't speak about players who are not in the squad."

Mauricio Pochettino may not want to be held accountable for Tottenham‘s signings, but that is the reality, despite not possessing complete control.

The Argentine has been speaking about the perception of himself when a transfer is deemed a success or not.

And with Tanguy Ndombele headlining this summer, there is likely to be more to come to heap the pressure on.

Bayern Munich manager, Niko Kovac has said that Manchester City winger, Leroy Sane, would be a dream signing.

''We all know that Leroy Sane is our dream player,” Kovac said.

"You can see that the transfer is not easy. But I know that our people are working very hard to make it happen. We will do everything to realise this transfer.”
