From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Arsenal's move for Dani Ceballos could be in doubt, with Marco Asensio's ACL injury causing problems for Real Madrid and their plans.
Zinedine Zidane is admittedly concerned: "It has nothing to do with one thing. We are all touched by Marco, hopefully as little as possible, just that,” said Zidane.
“We're a little worried (by Asensio). It's the knee. He went straight to the hospital to get tested and see. But it looks bad. It's the bad thing of the day for us. because we lose a player and we are a little touched, yes.”
Paul Pogba is edging closer to joining Real Madrid.
That's according to AS, who report Manchester United are advancing talks for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Lazio star could arrive and therefore release Pogba, with Real and Juventus fighting it out for his signature.
Danny Rose could join Paris Saint-Germain, who believe they are ahead of Juventus for the Tottenham star.
Spurs are willing to sell the England international for £20m, with the Sun claiming Ligue 1 is more likely than Serie A at this point.
Mauricio Pochettino has already ditched Kieran Trippier, who has joined Atletico Madrid, and Rose, at 29 years old, looks set to follow.
Manchester United are confident of finalising deals for Harry Maguire and Sean Longstaff.
The Standard claim Ed Woodward has remained in the UK to push through both deals.
Leicester value Maguire at £90m, with United's latest offer short of that at £70m, while £30m for Longstaff is said to be a compromise, after Newcastle previously demanded £50m based off the fee for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Dani Ceballos’ move to Arsenal has been thrown into doubt after the Real Madrid star’s teammate Marco Asensio suffered a serious knee injury in a pre-season friendly against the Gunners.
Ceballos, after shining in the European Under-21 Championships and inspiring Spain to victory, is eager for increased playing time next season.
And Real had conceded he would require a loan with minutes likely to be limited under Zinedine Zidane next season.
Unai Emery appeared set to sign Ceballos on loan, but after Asensio suffered what appears to be an ACL injury and a probable nine-month absence, Emery concedes the agreement could be jeopardised.
“I don’t know (if the injury will affect our deal for Ceballos),” Emery said after Arsenal lost on penalties following the 2-2 draw.
Morgan Gibbs-White is hoping for more first-team opportunities at Wolves this season.
The England U17 World Cup-winner enjoyed an impressive breakthrough but was gradually edged out of the starting eleven.
Wolves qualified for the Europa League last season for the first time in 39 years and the winger hopes that the added fixtures will provide him with more time to show his worth.
Paulo Dybala has given the OK for an eventual Juventus exit.
Tuttosport believe the Argentine has accepted the possibility he could leave Turin.
Maurizio Sarri does not have an obvious role for Dybala, with a move for Paul Pogba potentially funded by the sale.
Former Newcastle star Remy Cabella is set to leave Saint-Etienne and join Krasnodar.
Multiple reports in France claim the Russians will pay €12m.
The player will earn €3m per year net.
Huddersfield Town are tracking Chelsea youngster Trevoh Chalobah.
The former Ipswich loanee is thought to be available on a permanent deal too.
With just two years remaining on his contract, the Blues will consider offers for the 20-year-old, report Goal.
Aston Villa have completed the signing of Trezeguet from Kasimpasa for an undisclosed fee.
“We’re really excited to work with ‘Trez’. I’ve watched him a number of times," said Dean Smith.
“He’s the type of wide player that we have been looking for who is direct, causes problems for the opposition in the final third and scores goals.”
