Manchester United come into their game on Sunday looking to just serve a small reminder to Manchester City that their domestic title is not quite wrapped up yet, with the Red Devils able to close the gap to eight points if they pick up a home win against Burnley.

The Clarets have been in fairly wretched form, winning just one of their last eight league games, and are still not entirely safe from the threat of relegation - though there are still six points between themselves and Fulham, one place below them and just inside the drop zone.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have won four in a row in the Premier League, the best current run in the top flight, and they might just sense that a little pressure put on their rivals at the top could yet keep the end of the season interesting given that Pep Guardiola’s side have lost two of their last three in all competitions and still have the Champions League to focus on.

Realistically, though, this is all about United securing a top-two spot for the first time in three years, while Burnley simply need to scrape together more points to ensure safety for another season.

GOAL! 90’+3 - Man United 3-1 Burnley

Burnley pour forward looking for an equaliser, can’t find space for a shot and United breakaway down the left, ending in Van de Beek rolling it across for Cavani to tap in the third.

90’ - Man United 2-1 Burnley

Into stoppage time, of which there will be four minutes.

McTominay races into the box and shoots low, but it’s a decent save from the keeper.

88’ - Man United 2-1 Burnley

Van de Beek isn’t happy with a Tarkowski tackle and the Burnley defender is booked. Certainly wasn’t as dramatic as the Dutchman was insisting, or as high.

GOAL! 84’ - Man United 2-1 Burnley

United back in front! Greenwood finds space on the right edge of the box, turns inside and strikes low - and it deflects off the heel of Cork, loops past Peacock-Farrell and inside the near post.

82’ - Man United 1-1 Burnley

Gudmundsson tries to run across the area to shoot left-footed but he’s crowded out. United make a sub and the birthday boy is on: Van de Beek for Rashford.

78’ - Man United 1-1 Burnley

Burnley do have the ball in the net, but the whistle has long gone. A free-kick is nodded across goal and tapped home, but Maguire was fouled in the original aerial challenge. Just a reminder for United not to switch off, though.

75’ - Man United 1-1 Burnley

Into the final 15 and it’s still a backs-to-the-wall job for the Clarets here, but one they are doing well with.

United haven’t really created any clear openings and there’s always a counter threat from Dyche’s side.

70’ - Man United 1-1 Burnley

Into the final 20 minutes at Old Trafford. United seeking a winner to extend their winning run to five games, while Burnley know a point would leave them seven above Fulham once more.
