15 mins: Man City 0 - 0 Watford
Mahrez whips another corner in from the left, Gomes spills it but Capoue clears it. Man City bring the ball back but Deulofeu wins it and gives Watford a bit of breathing space.
18 mins: Man City 0 - 0 Watford
Watford push City back but the Premier League champions keep hold of possession.
21 mins: Man City 0 - 0 Watford
Watford get the ball into the box with Pereyra who loses control of the ball, it comes to Doucoure who shoots and hits Kompany. Doucoure is adamant that Kompany used his hand to stop the ball. The ball is still in play but Watford give away a free kick.
Kevin Friend gives Doucoure a yellow card for the forcefulness in which he demanded a penalty. VAR checks it and says the ball hit Kompany's shoulder.
24 mins: Man City 0 - 0 Watford
Mahrez puts the ball into the box but Holebas deals with it only for the ball to come back in to Jesus who shoots but Mariappa makes the block.
26 mins: Man City 1 - 0 Watford - David Silva
David Silva scores his first goal since December to give Man City the lead. Deulofeu is caught in possession and the ball comes to Sterling. He has a shot blocked and the ball loops into the air. David Silva wins the header and heads it to Sterling. Sterling heads it back to him as he drifts into space to the left of the box and he slots it into the far corner of the goal with a classic left foot.
30 mins: Man City 1 - 0 Watford
Watford put a free kick into the box but Mahrez heads it away. Jesus lets the ball go out and Watford have a throw in.
33 mins: Man City 1 - 0 Watford
Gundogan slips and ball through the defence towards Bernardo but Mariappa dives in front and gets the ball away. It would have been a certain goal for Man City.
36 mins: Man City 1 - 0 Watford
Mahrez gets into the box from the right again. Cathcart makes the tackle again. Zinchenko takes a shot, Mariappa makes the block and gives away a corner.
38 mins: Man City 2 - 0 Watford - Jesus
Bernardo flicks the ball through the Watford defence to the left side of the box. Jesus wins the ball and taps it past Gomes into the net, Sterling smashes the ball into the goal but it had already crossed the line.
Gabriel Jesus doubles City's lead.
