Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in June to win the Champions League for a sixth time. The Reds have meanwhile won the Super Cup more than any other English side with three wins, with their last title coming in 2005, when they beat CSKA Moscow 3-1 in the Netherlands.
Chelsea, who beat Arsenal to win the Europa League last season, are looking to win the Super Cup for the second time. Their only previous success came when they beat Real Madrid 1-0 in Monaco in 1998. Follow the latest updates below:

Jurgen Klopp on Chelsea and Istanbul: "They are really strong and young and fresh and everything is exciting because Frank [Lampard], a club legend, is new at the club and will want to make a name for himself as Chelsea manager. It will be really interesting and it's a really important game.
"I know about the special importance and what a special place Istanbul is for every Liverpool supporter.
"Nobody will forget 2005, but we are different people, a team from 2019-20 and a pretty good one as well. Istanbul is always a good place to play football."

3 mins: Joel Matip gets across to the right side after Joe Gomez went forward and was caught by a Chelsea break. Matip covers and makes a solid challenge to get the ball out of play. Good, sharp work from Chelsea in mid-field.

6 mins: An inadvertent handball from van Dijk allows Chelsea to work the ball into the box from a free kick. Pulisicwins the ball in the box before Matip takes it off him in another display of good defending.
Liverpool work the ball for a chance of their own as it flies into the box from the right and Mane attempts an overheaded kick which ricochets off Christensen and goes out for a corner.

9 mins: Jorginho fouls Milner and Liverpool have a chance to get the ball into the box. A short free kick comes to Salah who lifts one into the box. It falls to Fabinho on the left side of the area who strikes one straight at Kepa for an easy save.

12 mins: Pedro has Chelsea's first real attempt at goal. He directs a low curling shot at the bottom left corner but misses it wide of goal.
At the other end, Salah plays Henderson into space on the right wing and delivers a cross into the box. Mane is the target but Christensen heads it clear.

15 mins: It's been a decent start to the match. Chances at both ends, Chelsea look sharp but Liverpool seem to have the edge.
Oxlade-Chamberlain sends the ball out to the right and into the feet of Salah. Salah runs into the box and and shoots but Kepa makes a great sharp, low save.

18 mins: Giroud doesn't have the legs to beat Matip and shoots early but misses wide to the right.
