Liverpool exorcised the ghosts of 2014 with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea to keep their Premier League title charge on track.
Sadio Mane's header early in the second half was followed moments later by a goal-of-the-season contender from Mohamed Salah and, after two uncharacteristic misses by Eden Hazard, the Reds regained the top spot they had lost 90 minutes earlier to Manchester City.
Salah's goal was worthy of winning a title let alone a game, but for now Liverpool will settle for the latter. A two-point lead over City, winners at Crystal Palace, was restored and proved Jurgen Klopp's previous assertion that no-one is getting rid of his side in this most enthralling of races. Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
60 minutes: Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
Hazard with another golden chance!
The Belgian is unmarked in the box once again. The ball comes over from the right, and Hazard's half-volley is saved by Alisson and fortuitously rebounds to Van Dijk, not Hazard.
Chelsea have woken up, and should have scored.
62 minutes: Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
Game very open now, and being played at an electric pace.
Chelsea hunting for a goal, with Higuain found in the box, but Van Dijk does just enough to put him off.
64 minutes: Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
End to end stuff - Liverpool's players need to just calm down!
Willian plays in Higuain but the Argentine isn't on the same wavelength.
Breathtaking 10 minutes.
65 minutes: Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
Salah is on fire now!
Dribbling into the box, he tries to catch Kepa out at his near post, but the keeper does well down low to his left.
66 minutes: Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
First change for Liverpool: Naby Keita comes off for Georginio Wijnaldum.
An attempt to calm things down in the centre of the park me thinks...
68 minutes: Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
Liverpool flourishing now in attack, absolutely full of it.
But Chelsea are definitely posing a bigger threat of their own...
Henderson's role in the first goal shouldn't be overlooked...
