Liverpool exorcised the ghosts of 2014 with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea to keep their Premier League title charge on track.
Sadio Mane's header early in the second half was followed moments later by a goal-of-the-season contender from Mohamed Salah and, after two uncharacteristic misses by Eden Hazard, the Reds regained the top spot they had lost 90 minutes earlier to Manchester City.
Salah's goal was worthy of winning a title let alone a game, but for now Liverpool will settle for the latter. A two-point lead over City, winners at Crystal Palace, was restored and proved Jurgen Klopp's previous assertion that no-one is getting rid of his side in this most enthralling of races. Stunning tribute ahead of the 30th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
The players are back out and we're ready to go again here at Anfield - huge 45 coming up.
48 minutes: Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Liverpool on the front foot straight away in the second-half.
The ball drops to Naby Keita on the edge of the box, but his volley flies into the Kop.
GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Chelsea (Mane 51')
Breakthrough for Liverpool!
Henderson takes the ball off Salah in the box, and then with a chipped cross to the back post finds Sadio Mane all unmarked, and he heads the ball home!
Just how important could that be - Mane exquisitely set up by captain Henderson, who is thriving playing in this position further forward!
GOAL! Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea (Salah 53')
OH MY GOD WHAT A GOAL!
An absolute screamer from Mo Salah! Cutting in from the right, 30 yards out, he arrows an unstoppable strike into the far top corner!
Wow. Unreal. Sensational.
56 minutes: Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
Second change for Chelsea: Gonzalo Higuain comes on for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Anfield is absolutely rocking. I'm still in a state of shock at that Salah goal...
57 minutes: Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
This time, Firmino goes close!
The Brazilian has space outside the box, and pulls his shot just wide!
Chelsea on the ropes here...
59 minutes: Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
HAZARD HITS THE POST!
Emerson's ball down the middle finds Hazard in, one on one, but he rattles the post after sitting down Alisson, and Liverpool clear!
What a let off for the Reds.
