Marcelo Biela’s side enjoyed a promising start on their return to the top flight, however, back-to-back defeats prior to the international break served a reminder of the challenges to come. Ten points from eight games is hardly disastrous, though, and in Patrick Bamford Leeds boast one of England’s most prolific strikers on current form.

For all Mikel Arteta’s sweeping changes at Arsenal, they are still a side afflicted by wild swings of inconsistency. Their fabulous victory over Manchester United sent spirits sky-rocketing but a horrendous thrashing by Aston Villa proved why Arsenal remain very much a work in progress. They begin the game in 14th place and need a strong series of results to bolster their top four credentials. Follow all the action below live:

30 mins: Keita manages to free Mane on the left wing. Evans comes across as Mane runs at him. Mane puts the ball past him and Evans takes him out on the edge of the box.

27 mins: Robertson whips a corner into the box and Liverpool almost have a second. Matip wins the header under pressure and just puts the ball wide of goal. Leicester seem to have a real problem in defending those corners.

24 mins: It should be 1-1! Barnes and Vardy combine on the left side of the penalty area. Barnes brings it in and plays it up to Vardy running towards the byline. Vardy cuts the ball back to Barnes who opens up his body too much and puts the ball wide of the far post.

21 mins: GOAL! It’s a nightmare for Leicester but a deserved goal for Liverpool. Milner whips in the cross. Jonny Evans is tussling with Sadio Mane and the ball hits the back of his head and beats Kasper Schmeichel in goal.

18 mins: Liverpool have been impressive so far. Their weakened back line hasn’t really been tested as they’ve kept the ball up top with the forward three who’ve all linked up well. Liverpool win another corner.

15 mins: Denied. Kasper Schmeichel gets the game on level terms after Jota receives the ball from Firmino on the edge of the box. He turns and drills one at goal forcing the Leicester keeper to dive to his right to make the save.

12 mins: Liverpool have had the best chances of the opening 10 minutes or so. Leicester get forward on the counter attack. They win the ball at the back and Fofana brings it forward. Justin makes a run down the left and he picks up the ball. Fofana sprints into the box with Vardy but the cross finds neither of them.

9 mins: Schmeichel denies Jones who’s drifted into the right side of the box for Liverpool. Keita picks him out and he goes for the gap at the near post and forces Schemeichel into a save low down.

6 mins: There’s a big appeal from the Leicester players as the ball hits Joel Matip’s hand in the Liverpool box. VAR gives it a quick check and Leicester are denied a penalty. His hands were by his sides and the ball bounced up nd hit him.
