From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Follow all the action as Leeds United host Arsenal in the Premier League this afternoon.

Marcelo Biela’s side enjoyed a promising start on their return to the top flight, however, back-to-back defeats prior to the international break served a reminder of the challenges to come. Ten points from eight games is hardly disastrous, though, and in Patrick Bamford Leeds boast one of England’s most prolific strikers on current form.

For all Mikel Arteta’s sweeping changes at Arsenal, they are still a side afflicted by wild swings of inconsistency. Their fabulous victory over Manchester United sent spirits sky-rocketing but a horrendous thrashing by Aston Villa proved why Arsenal remain very much a work in progress. They begin the game in 14th place and need a strong series of results to bolster their top four credentials. Follow all the action below live:

Liverpool 2 - 0 Leicester

48 mins: Better from Leicester. They play it out from the back and find Maddison. Vardy and Barnes burst forward and Maddison slots it into Barnes. He takes the ball into the box and takes a shot but it’s weak and Alisson has no trouble scooping it up.

45+1 mins: Half time. Brilliant performance so far from Liverpool. Leicester haven’t really stepped up in terms of attack. Jota and Mane on the wings have caused big problems and Keita has bossed play in the midfield. Impressive stuff.

Liverpool 1 - 0 Leicester

39 mins: A poor pass from James Maddison gives the ball away to James Milner. He plays a beauty of a pass up to Mane who takes on Fofana. He twists, cuts onto his right and shoots but Evans has come across to help. Mane tries to squeeze it through the middle of the defenders but Fofana gets in the block.
