Marcelo Biela’s side enjoyed a promising start on their return to the top flight, however, back-to-back defeats prior to the international break served a reminder of the challenges to come. Ten points from eight games is hardly disastrous, though, and in Patrick Bamford Leeds boast one of England’s most prolific strikers on current form.

For all Mikel Arteta’s sweeping changes at Arsenal, they are still a side afflicted by wild swings of inconsistency. Their fabulous victory over Manchester United sent spirits sky-rocketing but a horrendous thrashing by Aston Villa proved why Arsenal remain very much a work in progress. They begin the game in 14th place and need a strong series of results to bolster their top four credentials. Follow all the action below live:

48 mins: Better from Leicester. They play it out from the back and find Maddison. Vardy and Barnes burst forward and Maddison slots it into Barnes. He takes the ball into the box and takes a shot but it’s weak and Alisson has no trouble scooping it up.

Second half: Liverpool get the match back underway. They’ll join Tottenham on 20 points and move into second if things stay as they are.

45+1 mins: Half time. Brilliant performance so far from Liverpool. Leicester haven’t really stepped up in terms of attack. Jota and Mane on the wings have caused big problems and Keita has bossed play in the midfield. Impressive stuff.

41 mins: GOAL! Liverpool send the ball out ot Robertson who does for Albrighton and swings in a cross. Jota makes a darting run and wins the header, slotting it past Schmeichel to double Liverpool’s lead.

39 mins: A poor pass from James Maddison gives the ball away to James Milner. He plays a beauty of a pass up to Mane who takes on Fofana. He twists, cuts onto his right and shoots but Evans has come across to help. Mane tries to squeeze it through the middle of the defenders but Fofana gets in the block.

35 mins: Close from James Justin. He works his way in between Jota and Milner, cuts inside with the ball and tries to curl one into the top corner but puts it wide.
