For all Mikel Arteta’s sweeping changes at Arsenal, they are still a side afflicted by wild swings of inconsistency. Their fabulous victory over Manchester United sent spirits sky-rocketing but a horrendous thrashing by Aston Villa proved why Arsenal remain very much a work in progress. 42 mins: Baldock passes the ball to Basham over on the left and he swings a good cross into the box. McBurnie rises, wins the header and forces Fabianski to palm the ball wide of the post.
Sheffield Utd’s corner finds McBurnie, he heads it to McGoldrick who heads the ball onto the post. Berge tries to get to the rebound but he’s flagged offside.
