Everton have been one of the form teams in the country so far, winning all six of their matches in all competitions and making it three from three last weekend, in which Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his goalscoring run before netting a hat-trick in the midweek Carabao Cup victory over West Ham.
Ancelotti does have a number of injury concerns on his hands though, including summer signing Allan, and Brighton will fancy their chances of an upset after resting the bulk of their squad during the week. Follow the live updates below.
21 mins: Jamal Lewis makes a good run into the box from the left but James Tarkowski is up to the task as he makes a solid slide tackle in the box to win the ball.
18 mins: McNeil floats a free kick into the box for Burnley, Wood heads it then, Barnes. It comes out to the left wing and is sent back in but the whistle goes for a foul on the goalkeeper, Darlow.
Newcastle 1 - 0 Burnley - Saint-Maximin
14 mins: GOAL! Allan Saint-Maximin opens the scoring with a great individual goal. He runs the ball to the edge of the box, dummies once, twice and then hits a low shot to the goalkeeper’s left. Pope gets a hand to the ball but he can’t stop it rolling into the back of the net.
12 mins: Newcastle put pressure on Burnley’s left side but McNeil manages to clear the ball. Barnes takes hold of the ball, and is taken out from behind.
6 mins: Hayden wins a corner for Newcastle that Shelvey sends into the box. It doesn’t beat Taylor who heads it out and sets Burnley free on the counter attack.
McNeil is played into the box and he shoots across goal, Darlow gets a touch to the ball and tips it behind for a corner.
3 mins: Burnley win a free kick over on the right and Westwood sends it into the box. Tarkowski is the target but it doesn’t reach him and Hendrick clears the ball for Newcastle.
Kick off: Newcastle kick off the match and send the ball towards their own defence, trying to find an earl passing rhythm.
The teams are out on the pitch, Burnley are looking for their first points of the season and they’ll have a good chance tonight. Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood are back up front and they’re a proven strike partnership with 38 and 35 Premier League goals respectively.
10 minutes to go until kick off. If Leeds vs Man City looked like a free-flowing goal fest on paper then this fixture looks the complete opposite.
Two teams focused on defence, keeping their shapes and making use of just a handful of chances a game. I’m not expecting a thriller to be honest.
