At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Follow the latest updates live from Crystal Palace vs Leeds United as Saturday’s Premier League action continues at Selhurst Park.

After the day’s opening encounter between Everton and Manchester United, Palace entertain Leeds with both sides knocking on the door of the top half of the table and looking to return to winning ways.

Palace suffered a disappointing defeat against Wolves last time out, while Leeds were on the end of a heavy 4-1 loss against Leicester, although their away form has been among the more impressive records in the Premier League this season. Follow the live updates below.

There’ll be two added minutes. Leeds win a free kick on the left and Klich whips it into the box. Palace head clear.

Leeds will wonder how they find themselves 3-1 down. They have, for the most part, played well, but things have very much gone against them.

GOAL! Crystal Palace 3-1 Leeds (Costa OG)

So unfortunate for Leeds! Van Aanholt is set away down the left and his cross deflects off Costa towards goal. Meslier is anticipating the ball into the middle and as a result leaves a gap, unable to react as the ball sneaks in at the near post. He should probably do better, but it’s a freak goal for Palace.

There’s no real respite for either side at the moment as play continues at a relentless pace. Leeds are the side probing and trying to work openings, but Palace have defended fairly well up to now.

The game has become slightly scrappy, which will probably suit Palace.

Zaha takes on Ayling and cuts inside from the left. His shot deflects behind for a corner, which is whipped in by Townsend and sails beyond everyone in the box.

Leeds are on top now, dominating possession and forcing Palace to work hard off the ball. There’s always the threat of a counter attack from the home side, but there are certainly more goals in this for Bielsa’s team.

GOAL! Crystal Palace 2-1 Leeds (Bamford)

Bamford won’t be denied this time. The ball breaks to the striker in the box and he chests it down before firing a left-footed shot past Guaita. Leeds aren’t out of this yet by any means.

That goal will hurt Leeds, who thought they’d made it 1-1 moments earlier but are now left with a big ask to turn this around. Eze, meanwhile, will be delighted after scoring his first Palace goal.

GOAL! Crystal Palace 2-0 Leeds (Eze)

Brilliant from Eze! He curls the free kick over the wall and in off the bar. Meslier, again, has no chance. Two immaculate finishes from Palace have put them in a very strong position early on here.
