From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Follow the latest updates live from Crystal Palace vs Leeds United as Saturday’s Premier League action continues at Selhurst Park.

After the day’s opening encounter between Everton and Manchester United, Palace entertain Leeds with both sides knocking on the door of the top half of the table and looking to return to winning ways.

Palace suffered a disappointing defeat against Wolves last time out, while Leeds were on the end of a heavy 4-1 loss against Leicester, although their away form has been among the more impressive records in the Premier League this season. Follow the live updates below.

Carlo Ancelotti speaks to BT Sport: "It was a good week because we recovered a lot of players from injury. I think we have a better team today, and it's a difficult game but also a great opportunity to come back and win. We didn't defend well in the last period, this is true. The fact we only have one clean sheet, against Tottenham, means we have to defend better. Manchester United have a strong team."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaks to BT Sport: “Every day when you’re at Manchester United you need to deliver, because you’re in the best position, you’ve got the best possible shirt over your head, and you must go out and enjoy it. That’s how I felt when I played, that’s how I feel now when I lead them out, so I just want them to express their talents. I want a confident team working together."

Everton can move back to the top of the Premier League with a win this afternoon, and they’ll be eager to avoid a third successive defeat.

United, meanwhile, are desperate for points following last weekend’s defeat against Arsenal. As it stands, Solskjaer’s side are in 15th, just four points above the bottom three.
