From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Manchester United are expected to again line-up with a young team in the Europa League when they take on AZ Alkmaar this evening.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is missing a number of the first-team squad through injury, including Ashley Young, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.

The match will take place on a plastic pitch in The Hague, as Alkmaar continue to rebuild their stadium following the collapse of a roof. Follow it live:

Odds

Alkmaar 21/10

United 7/5

Draw: 12/5

The half ends with AZ on the attack as Sugawara sees a shot blocked and then Idrissi's cut back from the byline is hacked away. The hosts probably edged the opening 45 minutes, but it's a close game between two relatively evenly-matched sides. United might be pleased if the scoreline stays as it is.

AZ get the game back underway!

AZ 0-0 Manchester United

Some feint appeals for a penalty as Sugawara sends a cross into the box and Dalot get himself into an awkward position. The ball appears to strike him on the arm, but it would've been harsh had a penalty been given.

AZ 0-0 Manchester United

United are still struggling to find teammates with passes, with Fred particularly guilty on a couple of occasions. AZ, meanwhile, go close again as Sugawara sends another dangerous cross in, this time a low ball which flashes across the face of goal.

AZ 0-0 Manchester United

Another appeal for handball as Idrissi, who's proved difficult to deal with tonight, beats Dalot and drills a cross against Williams. The youngster can't really get out of the way and, again, the referee isn't interested.

AZ 0-0 Manchester United

57 minutes

United probe patiently on the edge of AZ's box, but again the move breaks down through Fred. There's very little cutting edge about the visitors in attack, but that's not a new problem.

AZ 0-0 Manchester United

58 minutes

The ball drops to Sugawara in the box and the right back attempts a half volley, which flies over the bar. He's finding far too much space down the right flank though.

AZ 0-0 Manchester United

61 minutes

United easily defend another Stengs corner, and there have been quite a lot of them in the 60 minutes or so played.

AZ 0-0 Manchester United

63 minutes

Solskjaer has seen enough: Marcus Rashford is on for James.
