Over the break it was one of their stars in Jack Grealish who was making all the headlines, shining with England and quickly becoming a favourite of the national team’s fans.
Domestically, Villa have won five of their seven games so far and a win will take them level with Leicester City, who went into the break top of the table.
Brighton have struggled to find an end product to go with their at-times excellent build-up play and have just one win from eight games so far, 16th in the table at the start of play. Follow the end of Newcastle vs Chelsea and the build-up to the game at Villa Park below:

Gallagher is booked for a late challenge on Fred.
Fernandes again sends a corner out to Telles on the edge of the box and again his shot is wild and off target.

Rashford plays an excellent ball out to Martial on the left. He lays the ball off to Fred, who has an opportunity to shoot but instead plays an under-hit pass to Fernandes. The Portuguese is then charged down as he looks to shoot.

Fernandes slips a clever reverse pass through to Cavani, whose first-time finish is blocked by Bartley.

Johnstone is called into action again as a corner comes through to Maguire, who fires a shot towards the bottom left corner. From the next corner, Fernandes has an effort blocked from the edge of the box.

Matic lifts the ball over the top of the West Brom back four towards Martial. His cut back is met by Cavani, who miscues his shot.

Chance! Martial plays the ball out to Fernandes, who squares for Rashford. He looks certain to score, prodding the ball at goal from close range, but Johnstone reacts brilliantly again, managing to push the ball away to his left.
From the corner, Telles is picked out on the edge of the box but fires a shot into the stands.

Off the bar! So unlucky for West Brom. Robinson, moments after coming on, is picked out by Gallagher, and curls a superb shot against the woodwork, with De Gea beaten. Nothing is going in the visitors’ favour.
