Fernandinho came closest to settling the contest as the Brazil substitute hit the post in the second-half as Gareth Southgate again opted for an experimental side as he continues his plans for the World Cup.

Gareth Southgate on Marcus Rashford: “It's amazing really that he's been a player who's been able to dip under the radar as we think so much of him, not only his ability, but his mentality and his maturity.
“He's a very exciting player, but grounded, wants to improve all the time. For me he's going to be a top player. He has all the attributes of the top players I've worked with, but he's still only 20.
“Quite often we look across at each other in training and raise our eyebrows at some of the things he does. He's a very exciting player."
“Jose (Mourinho) wouldn't mess around, but he picks him in all the big games and is on the field in nearly every game.

55' - England's Jake Livermore and Brazil's Dani Alves go into the referee's book in quick succession for late challenges on Neymar and Ryan Bertrand respectively.
58' - That's an impressive show of confidence from Marcus Rashford. He skips past Casemiro, Marcelo and Miranda before Casemiro eventually gets back to dispossess the England striker in Brazil's penalty area. Lovely run.
64' - Ryan Bertrand sloppily gives the ball away in the left-back position and Brazil have a four-on-four situation on the edge of England's penalty area. Joe Gomez, who has stood out tonight, does well though and intercepts the ball before drawing a foul from one of Brazil's attackers.
68' - Brazil make their first substitutions of the match as Willian and Fernandinho replace Philippe Coutinho and Renato Augusto.
72' - Just like in the first half, England have grown into the second period as it's gone on. Brazil haven't offered too much going forward over the past 10 minutes and England are keeping possession so much better than they were just after half-time.
