Fernandinho came closest to settling the contest as the Brazil substitute hit the post in the second-half as Gareth Southgate again opted for an experimental side as he continues his plans for the World Cup.

Gareth Southgate on Marcus Rashford: “It's amazing really that he's been a player who's been able to dip under the radar as we think so much of him, not only his ability, but his mentality and his maturity.
“He's a very exciting player, but grounded, wants to improve all the time. For me he's going to be a top player. He has all the attributes of the top players I've worked with, but he's still only 20.
“Quite often we look across at each other in training and raise our eyebrows at some of the things he does. He's a very exciting player."
“Jose (Mourinho) wouldn't mess around, but he picks him in all the big games and is on the field in nearly every game.
“We wanted to look after him last summer as we see him as a big part of our future. He'll score goals... his technique and his finishing ability are tremendous.”

3' - Kyle Walker clears the ball after dispossessing Neymar and Jamie Vardy gets on the end of it before driving up the right wing under the attention of Brazilian central defender Miranda. The Leicester striker then aims a cross in towards Marcus Rashford but the ball is too close to Alisson in the Brazil goal and he gathers it easily.
9' - Brazil have been the dominant side in the early stages . Joe Hart is yet to be tested but the visitors have had the lion's share of possession and England look to have their work cut out here.
11' - Neymar gets on the end of Marcelo's lovely flick down the left wing before cutting inside and smashing a shot well over Joe Hart's crossbar.
12' - Smart save. Joe Hart gets down well to his left to deny Gabriel Jesus an opening headed goal from Dani Alves' cross. That's the first time the England goalkeeper has been called in to action.
18' - That's more like it from England, who are yet to really get going here.
Marcus Rashford collects the ball from Harry Maguire midway inside the Brazil half before skipping past Casemiro and slapping a long-range shot that stings Alisson's palms. Really positive play from the Manchester United man.
23' - What. A. Pass.
Neymar has just come up with one of the best through balls you'll ever see with the outside of his left boot. Luckily for England, the linesman's flag went up against Gabriel Jesus to halt Brazil's attack.
