Miranda snatched a stoppage time victory for Brazil against Argentina on a sweltering night in Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.

The experienced Inter Milan centre-back angled his header into the net at the near post from a corner to secure victory from what was otherwise a relatively drear affair.

Brazil fielded a strong line-up including Neymar, Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino yet they failed to take flight against an Argentinian team deprived of its artillery - Lionel Mesi, Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria all missing out on the final leg in the country's Middle Eastern expedition.

Despite the defeat, Lionel Scaloni, Argentina's interim manager, may be the happier of the two managers after his team's gritty performance against a fuller-strength side. Perhaps, Argentina's national team are finally emerging from their protracted dark spell.

Brazil win another free kick that they whip into Argentina's box. Neymar's delivery is long though and no-one can get on the end of it. It wouldn't have mattered as Argentina have been awarded a free kick for pushing in the box.
