From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Manchester United and Chelsea meet in the FA Cup final for the third time in the tournament’s 147-year history in what is lined up to be a fiercely competitive encounter at Wembley Stadium.

In a final that pits Jose Mourinho up against rival Antonio Conte, both managers know that defeat will leave them trophy-less this season – and for the latter that could prove to be the end of his reign at Stamford Bridge. Conte is expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, although there is hope that an FA Cup final triumph could yet keep him at the club.

For United, finishing the Premier League season 19 points behind Manchester City has been particularly embarrassing, and having failed to win the Champions League or EFL Cup, Mourinho will be desperate to add to his extensive trophy collection with the FA Cup.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on BBC One from 16:10 and BT Sport 1 from 16:00.

55: There's a renewed sense around Wembley that Manchester United can do something here. There's been more life in the first ten minutes of the second half than we saw in the entire first 45 minutes.

56: Chelsea alarm bells ring

Ander Herrera finds Antonio Valencia in the right channel and the full back cuts a ball towards the edge of the area. Nobody in red is there but the ball is worked to Marcus Rashford who has a fierce shot from range saved.

57: The Manchester United fans are on their feet as Manchester United look a little more lively now.

Chelsea now break through Eden Hazard who skips past Ander Herrera then draws a foul from Antonio Valencia who gets a yellow card.

58: There's a real shift in intent from Manchester United who are fining an extra gear from somewhere. We have a Cup Final on our hands!

59: Nemanja Matic picks the ball up with pace on the edge of the box and is urged to shoot. He goes with his right but scuffs a shot wide with memories of his emphatic goal in last year's semi-final floating around.

62: Manchester United have the ball in the back of the net....but the offside flag is up!

Marcus Rashford's whipped cross from the right is angled towards goal by Phil Jones who heads towards the corner of the net but Thibaut Courtious gets a last-ditch hand to the ball. His save is into the path of Alexis Sanchez who taps the ball in.

VAR was used to confirm the decision. There's a nice bit of history.

67: Ashley Young nutmegs Victor Moses then jumps into Cesar Azpilicueta as the ball rolls out for a Chelsea goal kick. The United man wants a free kick and Azpilicueta is very unhappy with how he went down.

68: Marcus Rashford's driven cross is dummied on the edge of the box by Jesse Lingard but Cesar Azpilicueta reads the situation and intercepts the ball before Paul Pogba could get to it. Great defending.

70: It should be 2-0!

N'Golo Kante runs through the midfield then the Manchester United defence parts. Kante slips the ball to his left and Marcos Alonso has a chance to put this beyond United with a first time shot but instead takes a touch, and then forces a save from David de Gea.

The ball falls to Victor Moses who has a cross blocked by Ashley Young. Chelsea appeal for a penalty for handball, but after a brief VAR check, a corner is given.

72: Rashford goes close!

A brilliant through ball finds Marcus Rashford in the right channel but he fails to lift it over Thibaut Courtois who rushes out.

On come Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial for Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.
