Follow live reaction as Everton came from two goals down at half-time to beat Crystal Palace and secure their Premier League safety at a raucous Goodison Park.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s 85th minute winner rescued Frank Lampard’s side and sparked a pitch invasion from the home supporters, after goals from Michael Keane and Richarlison pulled them level.

At half-time, and with Burnley leading Aston Villa, Everton were facing the possibility of needing to go to Arsenal on the final day of the season and getting a result.

Despite making a positive start in what was a noisy atmosphere at Goodison Park, the visitors took the lead when Jean-Philippe Mateta was allowed space to score a free header from Eberechi Eze’s free-kick.

It went from bad to worse for Everton as Jordan Ayew, who was fortunate to escape a red card for a high challenge on Anthony Gordon, punished a series of defensive mistakes to double Palace’s lead.

Michael Keane got one back after half-time to spark the comeback, and Richarlison equalised with 15 minutes of normal time remaining with a scrambled finish. But Calvert-Lewin’s header was greeted by wild scenes - which continued at full-time as the Toffees celebrated staying in the Premier League.

18 mins: OFF THE BAR! Richarlison steps up and bends one towards the top corner. Butland gets a fingertip to it and takes it onto the top of the crossbar!

Wonderful save from the Palace keeper. He doesn’t get any credit from the referee though as he signals for a goal kick!

So close from Richarlison.

16 mins: Zaha skips away from Iwobi and slides a dangerous pass into Mateta but Holgate does well to put his body in between the ball and the Palace striker to shepherd it out of play.

Another long ball is then hurled up to Calvert-Lewin. He flicks it on for Richarlison and Andersen opts to bundle over the Brazilian on the edge of the area.

Chance for an Everton player to have an effort on goal here.

14 mins: Richarlison does well to flick a high ball onto Gordon but the young Evertonian can’t find any space through a trio of Palace shirts on the edge of the area.

The home side have undoubtedly been the brighter but you would say Palace do look the more defensively organised. They also look as if they will need far fewer attacks to find the back of the net.

Nathaniel Clyne being booed, by the way. Ex-Liverpool.

12 mins: Everton back on the frontfoot as Mykolenko sends a dangerous ball into the box but no one is there to meet it.

Holgate then tries to find Gordon with a crossfield pass and gets too much on it as the Palace back line watch it drift out for a goal kick.

Palace then attempt a break as Zaha lays it off to Schlupp and he sprints down the left before cutting it back for Holgate to clear.

9 mins: Everton aren’t giving Palace a second on the ball at the moment. Exactly what the home fans would have wanted to see from the off.

Palace try to take the sting out of the hosts’ early momentum with a series of throw-ins.

Oh and there’s a half chance for the visitors out of nothing. A cross in from the left finds Ayew on the edge of the penalty area and he gets a good head on the ball but it’s always travelling over the bar.

6 mins: Palace struggling to get out of their own half in the early stages. They lump it up to Mateta but he can’t knock it onto Zaha and Everton come forward.

Richarlison’s cross deflects away for a corner but Gordon’s delivery is headed away at the front post.

Everton’s set-piece delivery has to be better tonight than it was against Brentford at the weekend.

3 mins: Brilliant atmosphere inside Goodison Park at the start of this one. The Crystal Palace players are receiving a chorus of boos every time they get a touch.

Richarlison goes down under pressure from Mitchell and the Everton fans want a free-kick in a dangerous position but nothing is given.

Vibrant start from the hosts.

Oh and an early altercation! Anthony Gordon and Wilfried Zaha come together after contesting the ball and Zaha pushes Gordon in the throat.

Not a red but unnecessary from the Palace man.

Will Everton be safe in two hours’ time?

How things look ahead of tonight’s games:

  • Everton (36pts): Crystal Palace (H), Arsenal (A)
  • Leeds (35pts): Brentford (A)
  • Burnley (34pts): Aston Villa (A), Newcastle (H)

Those points tallies could look very different in a couple of hours.

Kick-off at Goodison Park is next.

Right then! Kick-off is just around the corner at Goodison Park.

Reminder: A win tonight for Frank Lampard’s men would see them safe from Premier League relegation.

A draw or loss would send the battle to avoid the drop to the final day.

Buckle up.
