Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Roma appear vulnerable as they enter the last 16 of the Champions League nearly a year on from their incredible run to the semi-finals, where Liverpool finally eliminated them.

Porto await, quietly confident of landing themselves a quarter-final spot with one of the easiest routes in living memory, having gone unbeaten in a group including Schalke, Lokomotiv Moscow and Galatasaray.

The Giallorossi have one of the youngest, most talented sides around, including midfield revelation Nicolo Zaniolo, can they hold their composure at home to take a lead back to the Dragao? Follow it live:

Manchester United 0-2 PSG

Kylian Mbappe doubles PSG's lead!

Well this was a lovely, lovely goal from PSG who show they can be really dangerous once things get going. Juan Bernat feeds the ball into the left channel for Angel Di Maria to chase, he collects the pass, sets himself and delivers a low ball towards Mbappe. The French forward is beyond the Manchester United defence and knows exactly where this pass is going. Without breaking stride he runs onto the ball and puts it beyond David De Gea with a slight touch. Ruthless, brilliant, attacking football.

63: Dani Alvez is booked for a foul on Paul Pogba.

63: What a save! David De Gea has just kept Manchester United in this tie with a world class save.

The defence is breached with on through ball from deep and Kylian Mbappe is away, as he charges towards goal with the ball you feel there is only one winner, until you remember who is in goal. From the right side, Mbappe tries to clip a delicate chip over the goalkeeper but De Gea throws out a right arm to beat it away.

65: The absence of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard, who came off with injuries before the second half, has given PSG the confidence to play further up the pitch without the threat of the two speedsters catching them out on the break.

Roma 1-0 Porto

Edin Dzeko collects a cross from the left and holds the ball despite the inevitable shove from Pepe and lays it sideways to Nicolo Zaniolo. The young Italian sets himself and cuts a low shot across goal and deep into the bottom corner.

70: Manchester United have dusted themselves down from their momentary blip and are deserpeately searching for the next goal as we enter the final 20 minutes here.

They are beginning to move the ball a little quicker but there is a lack of quality when it matters, particuarly when it comes to the crossing.

72: It's showboat time for the PSG players and Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe are exchanging one-touch passes in style deep in the United half. Probably a bit too early for that, lads.

Roma 2-0 Porto

Nicolo Zaniolo makes it two!

Just like PSG, Roma have themselves a quick-fire double.

75: Marco Veratti's race is run and he is replaced by Leandro Paredes.
