From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Aymeric Laporte and Sergio Aguero struck as Manchester City twice came from behind to qualify for the Champions League last 16 with a 2-2 draw at Lyon.

The outstanding Maxwel Cornet grabbed both goals for the hosts, who outplayed the Premier League champions for large spells at the Groupama Stadium.

The Ivory Coast forward opened the scoring in the 55th minute and restored the lead after Laporte's first equaliser, but Aguero had the final word.

The result was enough to ensure City will play in the knockout stages, but they will have to wait until the visit of Hoffenheim next month to try to secure top spot in Group F.

Given the way the game unfolded, City will be glad to be leaving France with a result.

Lyon 1-1 Manchester City, 71 minutes

Fabian Delph has been waiting a while but Pep Guardiola is finally ready to bring him on.

Leroy Sane is the man to be replaced. Riyadh Mahrez onto the right, Raheem Sterling to the left and Delph to slot into midfield.

Manchester United 0-0 Young Boys, 70 minutes

What a save from David De Gea!

The Spaniard somehow manages to claw out a header from behind him, with about a third of the ball beyond his line, as a deflected shot span towards the corner.

He had no right to get anywhere near that, and he managed to push it away from four lurking Young Boys in his six yard box.

Outstanding!

Lyon 1-1 Manchester City, 74 minutes

Promising Dutch right back Kenny Tete replaces Rafael for Lyon.

15 minutes left, will either side find a winner?

Manchester United 0-0 Young Boys, 72 minutes

Antonio Valencia might have a slight knock so it is he rather than the previous scheduled Marouane Fellaini to be replaced by Juan Mata for the home side.

Nemanka Matic appear to have slotted in to the back four alongside Chris Smalling with Phil Jones sliding out to right back.

Romelu Lukaku heads just wide of the post. Manchester United starting to push for a goal.

Time is running out for Manchester United to find a winner at Old Trafford. A win would almost certainly take them through with Valencia now behind against Juventus.

GOAL! Lyon 2-1 Manchester City (Maxwel Cornet, 80 minutes)

A simple, yet effective, goal.

Tanguy Ndombele gets his head up and bisects two City midfielders to find Memphis Depay.

Depay in turn looks forward where Maxwel Cornet has just timed his run well enough to escape the offside trap.

A low finish through Ederson, a second of the game for Cornet and Lyon lead.

Four goals in all for Cornet this season - three of which have come against City...

GOAL! Lyon 2-2 Manchester City (Sergio Aguero, 82 minutes)

Another quick reply from Manchester City.

It is an excellent header from Sergio Aguero, who has somehow leapt above the Lyon defence to flick across goal into the bottom corner to once again level things up.

Bertrand Traore replaces Nabil Fekir for Lyon in the wake of the goal.. Will there be another goal in this game?

Manchester United 0-0 Young Boys, 82 minutes

A hardworking night from Jean-Pierre Nsame leading the line for the Swiss side, and he doesn't appreciate Luke Shaw's attempts to hurry him off as Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu replaces him.

Manchester United 0-0 Young Boys, 85 minutes

Manchester United yet to find a way to maintain pressure on Young Boys.

This game is drifting towards a draw at the moment.
