From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

60' - Very little to report on from Anfield since Philippe Coutinho completed his hat-trick. There are definitely more goals in this game for the hosts of they want them though.
61' - Mo Salah dances past a couple of Spartak defenders in the penalty area before attempting to place a shot into the far corner. Aleksandr Selikhov is equal to the effort though and manages to tip the ball around the post.
65' - Mario Pasalic beats Emre Can with a neat turn before shooting well over the crossbar from distance.
74' - Quincy Promes goes desperately close to bagging a consolation goal for the visitors but his curled effort from 20 yards goes just wide of Loris Karius' far post.
GOAL! Liverpool 6-0 Spartak Moscow (Mane)
76' - Mo Salah plays Daniel Sturridge in down the right side of the penalty area and he squares the ball across to Sadio Mane for a tap-in from inside the six-yard box.
That's too easy for the hosts, who will be seeded going into Monday's draw for the knock-out phase.
