From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Juventus take on Young Boys in Turin without the help of their star turn, Cristiano Ronaldo, after the Portuguese was controversially sent off in their opening fixture at Valencia.

The Italian club are currently second in Group H behind Manchester United on goal difference, with Jose Mourinho's beleaguered side taking on Valencia at Old Trafford later in the day. Follow it live:

What time does it start?

Juventus vs Young Boys kicks off at 5.55pm.

Where can I watch it?

The game will be shown live on BT Sport 1.

What are the odds?

Juventus win 1/5

Draw 6/1

Young Boys win 18/1.

44 mins: Romelu Lukaku has had little to work off in this first half and United must get his physicality and pace into the game more if they want to find an opener.

Both sides missing that final bit of quality to make the difference. If ever a game needed a goal, this was it.

Not the most riveting watch this one...

Lyon 0-1 Shakhtar Donetsk (Junior Moraes 44')

This one is behind closed doors, but Moraes won't mind, as he puts Donetsk ahead on the stroke of half-time. Lyon remember, beat Manchester City in the Champions League openers

HALF TIME: Manchester United 0-0 Valencia

Not the best half you will ever see. Here's a bit more about Valencia to try and get you energised for the second half (after that I understand if it's a struggle).

Nikola Vlasic - remember him Everton fans?

SECOND HALF: Manchester United 0-0 Valencia

We are back underway. Let's hope for an early goal...

47 mins: The end is nigh. Romelu Lukaku is playing on the wing. Or at least has gone over to the left. Anthony Martial now given the chance in a more central position

Molly Hudson2 October 2018 21:17

I'm not sure Valencia look like scoring, but then neither do United...

GOAL UPDATES

Lyon 0-2 Shakhtar Donetsk (Moraes 55')

AEK Athens 1-2 Benfica (Klonaridis 53')

- First Champions League goal for Athens in 12 years

Goals everywhere but Old Trafford...

Plenty of out of form, lacking in confidence players in a red and black shirt tonight.
