Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. After the pain of their 3-1 home defeat by Chelsea on Sunday, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City were unable to find a nerve-settling win over Celtic at the Etihad Stadium.
City had already guaranteed a place in the last-16 but the side couldn't improve on second place with Barcelona topping Group C.
Guardiola was looking for a strong response from his side after the weekend's defeat and a convincing victory over the Hoops but he didn't get the confidence booster he was hoping for.
As for Celtic, Brendan Rodgers' side finished bottom and, as a result, head out of Europe without the chance to feature in the Europa League.

After an explosive first 20 minutes the game died off in truth, especially towards the end as both teams seemed to settle for the draw. City's defence will still be a worry for Guardiola though and he could have done with a moral-boosting victory for his players here tonight.

It's over, Arsenal are Group A winners!
Arsenal are through as group winners after Paris Saint-Germain draw to Ludogorets! It is only the third time in 10 seasons Arsenal have finished top of their Champions League group. Although it doesn't mean they will avoid Bayern Munich and they could even have to face Real Madrid, depending on tomorrow's results!
