Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Barcelona will be looking for their first league win since mid-September when they entertain Sevilla in Catalonia.

Ernesto Valverde’s side have drawn three and lost one of their last four La Liga fixtures, but the Catalans will hope to come back from the international break refreshed to claim their first league win since their 2-1 triumph at Real Sociedad.

Sevilla, meanwhile, are on a four-game winning run in the league, following victories against Levante, Real Madrid, Eibar and Celta Vigo.

What time does it start?

Barcelona vs Sevilla kicks off at 7:45pm on Saturday.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on Eleven Sports 1 from 7:35pm and on their La Liga TV channel from 7:45pm. Fans can also watch the match on Eleven Sports through iOS mobile and tablet apps as well as on Android mobiles. Highlights will be shown on the La Liga TV channel at 10:30pm.

It’s a big game for…

Luis Suarez. While Barcelona loanee Paco Alcacer cannot stop scoring for Borussia Dortmund and Spain, the Uruguayan has appeared rather sluggish lately, demonstrated by his lethargic work on the ball in the 1-1 draw against Valencia at the Mestalla. The 31-year-old began last season in a similar fashion, however the Catalan giants will be hoping that he recovers in a similar vein to how he did last campaign to fire them to further success.

Player to watch…

Wissam Ben Yedder. The French striker has already netted five times this term, complimenting the goals from Andre Silva admirably. The 28-year-old scored the winner against Celta Vigo during the last weekend of fixtures, and given Barcelona’s problems at the back this season Ben Yedder could be an excellent option for Pablo Machin.

Past three meetings…

Sevilla 1 (Sarabia) Barcelona 2 (Pique, Dembele), Super Cup, August 2018

Sevilla 0 Barcelona 5 (Suarez x2, Messi, Iniesta, Coutinho pen), Copa del Rey, April 2018

Sevilla 2 (F. Vazquez, Muriel) Barcelona 2 (Suarez, Messi), La Liga, March 2018

1 min: Barcelona 0-0 Sevilla

Kick off at the Camp Nou! The winner of the game tonight goes top of the pile. So who will win out?

GOAL! Barcelona 1-0 Sevilla (Coutinho 2')

That didn't take long did it? Nelson Semedo tanks down the right hand side, and incisive work from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi sees the latter feed the Brazilian, who curls into the top corner from inside the box.

Barcelona do glance towards the linesman but the goal stands, and rightly so.

6 min: Barcelona 1-0 Sevilla

Nearly a very quick response from the visitors. Guilherme Arana finds himself in all sorts of space on the left-hand side with Nelson Semedo out of position, and his effort from 20 yards cannons off ter Stegen's left-hand post.

It's that Messi-Alba partnership at it again. The former finds the latter and the Spaniard tries to return the favour, but the Argentine's shot is blocked behind for a corner.

GOAL! Barcelona 2-0 Sevilla (Messi 13')

He looks in the mood tonight, but then when doesn't he I guess?

Nevertheless, it had 2-0 all over it after the Argentine was released down the right by Suarez. The 31-year-old cuts inside Sergi Gomez and does what Messi does best with a confident finish into the bottom corner.

That blogger's curse may have just struck again. The Argentine went down for a while after suffering an awkward fall following a clash with Franco Vazquez. He is back on his feet now but we'll keep an eye on him as he receives treatment on his right arm.

25 min: Barcelona 2-0 Sevilla

Messi has had white tape put around his right arm but that has done little to solve the problem . The Argentine has gone down the tunnel and has been replaced by Ousmane Dembele

I'm sure we all want to remember happier times for Messi, so here's another.
