Barcelona looked down and out after losing the first leg of their last-16 tie 4-0 against Paris St Germain in February, but produced a remarkable 6-1 second-leg triumph last month to reach the quarter-finals of Europe's premier club competition.

They gave themselves another mountain to climb as they suffered a crushing 3-0 loss to Juventus in Turin last Tuesday in the first leg of the last-eight meeting, but their past form would suggest they cannot be written off just yet.

It’s a big game for…

Dani Alves: The Brazilian right back, who moved from the Nou Camp to Turin last year, helped keep former team mate Neymar quiet in the quarter-final first leg on April 11 as Juventus won 3-0 at home.

And ahead of the second-leg Alves remarked that should they win this evening, they will be eliminating the best team in the world from the Champions League. No pressure, then.

Remember when…

Ten-man Juventus booked their place in the Champions League semi-finals with a dramatic extra-time victory over Barcelona.

45 min: And that's kick-off! The second half is under way!

Samuel Lovett19 April 2017 20:47

47 min: Neymar flashes with a burst of pace and quick feet to break past a wall of Juventus shirts and into the box. After a smart cut-back on the left, he attempts to get in the position to shoot but ends up running into a cul-de-sac with Chiellini ushering the ball out for a goal-kick.

50 min: Chance for Juventus! Higuain charges down the centre of the park before playing Cuadrado in behind the Barca defence on the right. He lines up the goal and lets loose with a low driven effort that fizzes from right to left but fails to find the back of the net. Barca goal-kick.

Monaco 2-1 Borussia Dortmund: Marco Reus snatches one back for the visitors. There's still a lot to do, though, if they're to stand any chance of progressing to the semis...

56 min: Chance for Messi! The Argentine fires in from outside the Juventus box but it's a whisker wide. He'd curled it towards the bottom left corner but took the smallest of touches off Chiellini to run out for a corner.

Samuel Lovett19 April 2017 20:59

58 min: Barcelona free-kick, just four yards out from the Juventus box. Up steps Messi... but he can't get it up and over the wall and it ends up sailing out for a Juve goal-kick.

62 min: Neymar with the shot this time but it's wildly off target and sails into the crowd behind. A touch of frustration starting to creep into Barcelona's game as they struggle to break through the resilient and experienced Juventus defence.

Samuel Lovett19 April 2017 21:05

64 min: Juventus corner. It's pumped to the back of the box and Barcelona can only clear as far as the edge of their own penalty area. Juve recycle before Alves fires it back in. The home side make a better meal of this time and clear the danger for good.
