The hosts had made a disappointing start to the new campaign and Oliver Glasner was coming under some pressure, despite last year’s excellent form to end the season. But this result will go some way to easing those concerns, as Palace beat Spurs 1-0 thanks to Jean-Philippe Mateta’s strike, buried from the left side of the six-yard box after Eberechi Eze’s brilliant flick.
For Spurs it’s a missed opportunity to keep a recent consistent run going and move up into the top six, leaving Ange Postecoglou needing to answer more uncomfortable questions about his side’s inability to string results together. Follow all the reaction below.
