34 mins: Pinnock is down again. He doesn’t seem to have shaken off that knock and when you’re up against Mo Salah they have to be 100% fit.

He’s not going to continue. The medical team check him over whilst Thomas Frank gets the substitutions ready.

31 mins: The lead didn’t last very long. This is a well worked goal from Liverpool Mo Salah brings the ball down the right and gives it to Henderson on the overlap. He floats a cross into the penalty area where Diogo Jota rises higher than the Brentford centre-backs, wins the header and slots it into the bottom corner. Great finish, game on.

30 mins: Brentford defend a Liverpool free kick followed by a corner. Pinnock goes up against Van Dijk but comes off worse and needs a breather. He’s nursing his hip but looks okay to play on.

27 mins: Brentford take the lead! Ethand Pinnock has his first Premier League through a wonderful Brentford set piece. The Bees win a free kick over on the right side of the pitch. It’s played short to Norgaard who chips it into the box for Sergi Canos. Canos squares the ball into the box and Toney backheels it to the back post. Pinnock squeezes in front of Fabinho and pokes the ball into the back of the net!

24 mins: Toney just delays a chip over the top of the Liverpool back line and Mbeumo is offside for his run into the box. He brings the ball down and forces a save from Alisson but there’s not much intent in the shot as he knows it wouldn’t stand.

21 mins: Brentford have been very positive. They’re backing their forwards against Matip and Van Dijk and they’ve been rewarded so far. Toney in particular is winning his aerial duels allowing the Bees to work with the ball further up the pitch.

18 mins: Mbeumo is slipped into the left side of the Liverpool box leaving Trent Alexander-Arnold scrambling to get back. He slides into a challenge but Mbeumo shifts the ball away from the defender. He looks the cross and gets clipped by Alexander-Arnold’s trailing leg. Brentford want a penalty as the cross goes wayward but Stuart Attwell lets play go on.

15 mins: Two clearances off the line in less than 15 minutes. One at both end. This could turn into a cracking game. Neither team seems shy in front of goal.

12 mins: What a mad game this is! In an almost carbon copy of Salah’s chance Mbeumo comes so close to putting Brentford in front. Raya belts a long ball up the pitch that Toney wins. He heads it into the box for Mbeumo who draws out Alisson before nudging it past him. Joel Matip is the defender sprinting to the line and he gets there before the ball and manages to sweep away the danger!

10 mins: A response from Brentford! Bryan Mbeumo curls it in from the left and Ivan Toney gets in front of Virgil van Dijk to glance a header wide of the far post.
