Brighton vs Sheffield United LIVE: Premier League result and reaction
Brighton 1-1 Sheffield United: The Seagulls drew with the Blades in a Premier League encounter
It’s now a run of six Premier League matches without a win for Brighton who were held to a 1-1 draw against Sheffield United at the Amex Community Stadium this afternoon.
The Seagulls started the match eighth in the table and looked set to collect all three points after they stuttered through October. Simon Adringa’s goal six minutes into the game gave them the early and things stayed that way until the second half. Mahmoud Dahoud was shown a red card for the hosts and sent them down to 10-men.
Sheffield United netted five minutes later through an Adam Webster own goal but couldn’t press their advantage to claim a win.

It finishes all square at the Amex Stadium, where Brighton and Sheffield United play out a 1-1 draw. The hosts made a bright start and took the lead in the sixth minute through Simon Adringra and they were good value for their advantage. But the pendulum swung in United's favour in the 69th minute when Mahmoud Dahoud was shown a straight red card for a stamp on Ben Osborn. The visitors capitalised on their numerical disadvantage within five minutes as Adam Webster turned Jayden Bogle's cross into his own net. It is a goal that lifts the Blades off the bottom of the Premier League table, while Brighton remain eighth. Both sides are back in action on November 25 when Brighton travel to Nottingham Forest and United host Bournemouth. Thank you for joining us today. Until next time, goodbye!
