Arsenal a really good team - Conte

Arsenal and Tottenham are separated by just one point at the top of the Premier League table as they go head-to-head in the first north London derby of the season this afternoon. Mikel Arteta’s Gunners sit top of the league with 18 points whilst Antonio Conte’s Spurs are two places back in third.

In their last match before the international break Tottenham despatched Leicester 6-2 with Son Heung-min finally hitting form with a second half hat-trick from off the bench to seal the victory for Spurs. Arsenal are also in fine touch and they ended the opening spell of the season with a 3-0 win away at Brentford.

Today’s encounter is set to be a furious clash between two teams on the top of their game. Arsenal have only lost once in their league campaign so far – a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford – whilst Tottenham are unbeaten with five wins and two draws from their first seven fixtures. Will the Gunners end Spurs’ unbeaten run and remain top of the Premier League table?

Follow all the action from the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal host Tottenham in the north London derby:

31’ Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham: GOAL! Kane buries the penalty to equalise

Jesus and Royal are wrestling on the edge of the area...

Eventually it’s Kane, little shuffle, clipped down the middle, GOAL!

Spurs are level, Ramsdale sent sprawling, it’s a penalty of great composure.

Incredible variety from the smashed finish into the top corner with England to this delicate finish from the spot. 1-1.

29’ Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham: PENALTY SPURS! Gabriel fouls Richarlison

Spurs cause chaos to catch Arsenal pressing high with Kane’s lovely flick setting Son free.

He battles through a couple of challenges, then sets Richarlison free, but it’s a heavy pass.

The Brazilian recycles the ball well and the move sees him nick it past Gabriel, penalty, a poor challenge.

Perisic is in, it’s worked beautifully from right to left by Spurs.

Son whips it out to the Croatian, he goes back across his body and swipes at it with his left, but it’s wide at the near post, a waste!

Romero now in late on Jesus, handing Arsenal a dangerous-looking free-kick.

Taken short by Xhaka, given back by Martinelli, then it goes into the box, but away by Dier.

Back out to the left wing, where Spurs are suffering.

The two Brazilians almost carve open Spurs, Jesus with a one-two off Martinelli, but the first touch is just behind him and the danger is cleared.

Jesus now bringing out the tricks, some turn to get away from Dier.

Arsenal purring and looking to take advantage of this early momentum.

There were 22 passes in the build-up to the Partey opener.

20’ Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham: GOAL! Partey with a thunderbolt to break the deadlock

That is just stunning from Thomas Partey, it’s a thunderbolt to break the deadlock.

Time and space about 20 yards out, just to the right-side of the area, it’s beautifully passed into the top right corner.

What a finish, Arsenal lead, 1-0!

17’ Arsenal 0-0 Tottenham

White in space on the right, he steps into this and has a go.

It’s high and over though, a poor effort and a clear tactic from Spurs to let him have the ball.

Xhaka with a better effort though, pinged low with his left and it skips across Lloris, who is beaten, but it curls wide of the right-hand post.

15’ Arsenal 0-0 Tottenham: What a save!

Ramsdale is down low to his right, Richarlison broke free into the box and stabbed it low.

Potentially White playing them on, but Dier flicked it to the Brazilian, who has to score. VAR may have ruled it out.

Then Kane in behind and volleys wide left, but the flag is up, more direct now from Conte’s side to combat the high press.

Odegaard looking for a curler with Martinelli closing in on the back post.

It’s going to be a busy day for Royal, who is spinning all the time to track his opponent’s position.

Royal suddenly bursts forward and feeds Kane, who is bundled over, about 40 yards out to the right, a chance to sling it into the box.

11’ Arsenal 0-0 Tottenham

Lovely skill by Martinelli down the left, flicks it up and over Emerson, then looks to knock it one side of Richarlison and collect the other.

But it’s a foul, the Brazilian looks sharp today.

Son and Kane unable to find each other when it does reach them so far, Saliba and Gabriel picking up the pieces.
