Arsenal a really good team - Conte

Arsenal and Tottenham are separated by just one point at the top of the Premier League table as they go head-to-head in the first north London derby of the season this afternoon. Mikel Arteta’s Gunners sit top of the league with 18 points whilst Antonio Conte’s Spurs are two places back in third.

In their last match before the international break Tottenham despatched Leicester 6-2 with Son Heung-min finally hitting form with a second half hat-trick from off the bench to seal the victory for Spurs. Arsenal are also in fine touch and they ended the opening spell of the season with a 3-0 win away at Brentford.

Today’s encounter is set to be a furious clash between two teams on the top of their game. Arsenal have only lost once in their league campaign so far – a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford – whilst Tottenham are unbeaten with five wins and two draws from their first seven fixtures. Will the Gunners end Spurs’ unbeaten run and remain top of the Premier League table?

HT: Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham

Jesus worked tremendously hard to stop Richarlison as Spurs work a promising opening through Son and Bentancur.

Lenglet covering well as Saka is played in behind. Martinelli on another mazy dribble, then Saliba wins it high up the pitch, but Spurs survive.

A fine half comes to an end, 1-1 about right, with both teams enjoying dominant spells.

Wow, Jesus with a sublime piece of skill.

Royal is first to spin, then Romero misses the ball, Jesus sprints in the box and pokes it straight at Lloris.

It just lacked that finish, incredible run.

Zinchenko then tosses it into the box and Saka wriggles free beyond Perisic, but his volley lacks control and is off target.

Anthony Taylor is going to struggle to keep his cards in his pocket much longer.

First Gabriel, who has had a poor first half, steams into the back of Kane.

Then Romero on Odegaard. Feisty.

Lloris under pressure now from the corner and it’s cleared.

Son was away, but his shirt is pulled, advantage played as the Korean finds Richarlison.

He feeds Perisic, who is just offside, but the play continues and Kane is found in the middle, stretching to plant a header on target.

Seven minutes to half-time and Spurs looking for the lead.

Ramsdale, under pressure and rooted to his line, falls back and palms away the inswinging corner.

Big chance Spurs, Arsenal hand them possession and Richarlison drives into the area.

His powerful, low cross is cleared with Kane lurking.

That was Kane’s 100th Premier League away goal.

Saliba with immense composure to dribble out from the back with Son pressing him inside the box.

Richarlison out to Royal, now Kane, dropping deep, his cross out for a corner. Spurs on top now.
