Follow live coverage as AFC Bournemouth face Brighton & Hove Albion today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

AFC Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Phew, all of the excitement this game missed for the most part came in the eight minutes of stoppage time played at the tail end of the game. Bournemouth were clearly the better side in both halves, but Brighton produced a couple of moments of brilliance in either half to put themselves two goals ahead, while also being helped by a wasteful Bournemouth. Pedro was the star of the game, scoring for the second consecutive game, before providing a delightful assist for Mitoma's goal in the second half. Baleba was sent off in the 59th minute, giving Bournemouth an opportunity, but they could not capitalise until the very end. Brooks scored for the Cherries as late as the 93rd minute, before Semenyo hit the crossbar with the final kick of the game. Bournemouth's resurgence came too late as Brighton hung on to move into the top 5 with 22 points. Bournemouth registered an xG of 1.42 to Brighton's 0.94. The Cherries will take on Wolves away from home next weekend, while Brighton play hosts to Southampton.

SEMENYO HITS THE CROSSBAR! Wow, so much drama at the Vitality as Semenyo hits the bar with the final kick of the game. He attempts a volley from inside the box as the ball falls to him off a clearance, and his attempts hits the top of the crossbar and goes out. Brighton can breathe and its heartbreak for Bournemouth who almost had the equaliser that seemed highly unlikely only five minutes ago.

Brighton conceded a very late equaliser against Wolves a few weeks ago and they would be very nervous for these final couple of minutes just when the game seemed to be comfortably in control.

Brighton attack on the counter and Adingra does well to skip past a couple of defenders and find Mitoma centrally just a few yards outside the box. However, his attempt to play the ball to Adingra, who had made his way into the box by then, is easily collected by Kepa.
