Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley weigh in ahead of rematch

Jake Paul knocked out Tyron Woodley in spectacular fashion on Saturday night, beating the former UFC champion for the second time in four months.

The knockout came in the sixth round of the pair’s boxing rematch in Tampa, Florida, as YouTube star Paul outdid his split-decision victory over Woodley from August, remaining undefeated in the process. Woodley, 39, was immediately more active than he was in the pair’s first fight, but Paul took the centre of the ring, worked his jab well and threw smart hooks to the body. Paul’s best moments came via double-jab set-ups, but the 24-year-old faced some adversity as he was cut on his forehead by an accidental elbow and Woodley landed two heavy right hands in quick succession – to the excitement of the Tampa crowd.

Woodley received a warning in the fourth round for throwing Paul to the canvas to break a clinch, perhaps out of frustration as the internet sensation neutralised more and more entries by grabbing hold of the wrestling specialist. Indeed, there was less and less boxing and increasingly more grappling on display as the fight passed its halfway mark, with those in attendance audibly growing frustrated by the lack of action. That all changed with 48 seconds left in the sixth round, however, as Paul took out Woodley with a sudden, vicious overhand right. Woodley fell face-first to the mat as the bout was waved off, Paul improving his professional boxing record to 5-0.

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley - Ring walks

And now making his way to the ring... here comes Jake Paul. The ‘Problem Child’ comes out to the ‘YMCA’ and seems to be wearing a Union Jack-inspired outfit - is that a dig to Tommy Fury?

Paul is joining in with the signing. Quite the contrast to Woodley’s introduction.

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley

Jake Paul is anticipating an easy pay-day against Tyron Woodley - going as far as calling tonight’s fight a “bank robbery”.

"It's funny how these 'professionals' like Tommy Fury who's considered a professional boxer gets sick, breaks a rib and doesn't want to fight," Paul said ahead of facing Woodley for a second time.

"I've fought sick, I've fought hurt, you've got to go in there and get the job done and they're like 'oh, you got Tyron Woodley now' and I said 'no problem'.

"That's why I've got the ski mask on, they're going to give me a guy I already beat, this is a bank robbery."

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley: Serrano vs Gutierrez latest

“I think I belong at 135 - I belong wherever they put me. I’m a true champion. She [Gutierrez] is a tough girl, a big girl. She said she was in a better shape tonight than when she fought Katie [Taylor]. I fought the best Gutierrez, and I beat her.

“I’ve gotta thank Jake Paul. If it wasn’t for him pushing me, these [fans] wouldn’t know who I am. This is for women’s boxing - this is for you all.”

Big things next for women’s boxing? “I know so,” she says.

Get that Katie Taylor contract signed.

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley: Serrano vs Gutierrez latest

Here it goes, one big push from Serrano to get Gutierrez out of there. Serrano catches Gutierrez a couple of times on the cheek. Gutierrez is still swinging but Serrano is absorbing the blows and then releasing them back. Still, the bell goes and Gutierrez has done remarkable well to hang in there for 10 one-sided rounds.

But that was a scary performance from Serrano. She was in complete control for every second of that contest.

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley: Serrano vs Gutierrez latest

Gutierrez’s blood has been cleared up but there’s now swelling around her eye. She’s taken nothing but punishment from Serrano tonight. This has been a brutal display from the Puerto Rican. Still, Gutierrez is able to get out of the eighth - but she surely cannot continue for much longer.

The ninth is a non-event, with Serrano looking to save her energy for one final push in the tenth.
