From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Dillian Whyte has moved into contention for a rematch with Anthony Joshua after winning his grudge match with Dereck Chisora by devastatingly stopping his rival in the 11th round.
Two years after narrowly outpointing his opponent, Whyte demonstrated his improvement and furthered Chisora's decline by leaving him unconscious for a worryingly long time at London's 02 Arena.
He was expected to be confirmed as the next challenger to Joshua at Wembley on April 13, but potentially faces an anxious wait while the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion considers instead fighting in the US for the first time.
Whyte will regardless remain at world-level as one of the division's leading contenders and a likely future challenger to Joshua, but if he is forced to wait could struggle to maintain the impressive momentum he has built.
The way Chisora's head heavily hit the canvas after Whyte's powerful left hook landed secured the latest damaging defeat of what has already been a difficult career, meaning that at 34 and with fewer options he should consider retirement.

Interestingly, Takam called out Chisora after his fight.
If the Brit loses to Whyte tonight, the rematch could well be on.
I want you Chisora, next! I want you.
Up next at the O2 is Cristofer Rosales vs Charlie Edwards. The WBC flyweight title is on the line in this one.
Charlie Edwards looks determined on his ring walk. One thing on his mind and that's walking away with the WBC title.
A tough ask, mind.
Round one: Both men moved really well in that round, Edwards being a little bit more tentative. He landed a nice left but it was followed by Rosales throwing a left and a right.
Both men targeting the body, a good opening round that I'd say was taken by the world champion. Encouraging from Edwards nonetheless.
Round three: Some more good body punches from Rosales in that round, Edwards responding each time.
This is an increasingly interesting fight. I'd edge that one to Edwards.
Round four: Wow what a round from Edwards! He lands some brilliant combinations and Rosales can do nothing but follow the punches. A definite Edwards round.
