The Democratic National Committee has released an ad calling Donald Trump “chicken” for refusing to commit to another presidential debate against Kamala Harris.

The former president has repeatedly claimed that he won the first debate and therefore there is no need for another. Few people outside of Magaworld share this assessment of their September 10 showdown.

In good news for team Trump, a new poll from The New York Times shows him leading in Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona by five points.

The poll, conducted from September 17-21, found the race is closest in North Carolina, where Trump currently sits at 49:47 percent against Harris. In Georgia, the poll puts Trump four points ahead 49:45 percent.

Trump has events scheduled in the the key battleground of Pennsylvania on Monday where the race appears tight. Harris will be there again on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Ryan Routh, the man accused in the apparent assassination attempt of Trump at his Florida golf course, left behind a note saying that he intended to kill the former president and kept a handwritten list of dates and venues where Trump was to appear, the Department of Justice has revealed.

A court ruled he will be held without bail as the case progresses.

Harris has massively out-raised Trump four to one with less than 50 days until election

Kamala Harris’s campaign raised more than four times what Donald Trump’s campaign raised in August, The Washington Post reports.

Harris has consistently beat Trump’s fundraising numbers ever since entering the race this summer. The vice president even raised $47 million in the 24 hours after her debate with Trump.

This marked the largest single-day amount since she announced her candidacy.

700 former high-ranking national security officials endorse Harris

Nearly 750 former high-ranking national security officials have endorsed Kamala Harris for president, warning against Donald Trump’s “scary authoritarian streak.”

“We do not agree on everything, but we all adhere to two fundamental principles,” the endorsement letter reads. “First, we believe America’s national security requires a serious and capable Commander-in-Chief. Second, we believe American democracy is invaluable.”

“Each generation has a responsibility to defend it,” the letter continues. “That is why we, the undersigned, proudly endorse Kamala Harris to be the next President of the United States.”

Retired Navy Rear Admiral Michael Smith told The Hill that Harris is prepared to be a “strong commander-in-chief.”

“As we’ve seen for nearly a decade, however, former President Trump has none of those qualities, and he has a scary authoritarian streak,” Smith said.

Harris surges ahead of Trump in latest national poll but swing states remain toss-up

A new national poll reveals Kamala Harris taking a clear lead for the first time, another sign that the Democratic presidential candidate continues to enjoy an advantage in momentum over her opponent Donald Trump with less than 50 days until the election.

An NBC News survey, published Sunday, shows Harris up five percentage points over Trump, boosted by what appears to be formerly undecided voters who had previously indicated they supported neither the Republican candidate nor his former opponent, Joe Biden.

John Fetterman says fellow senator JD Vance has ‘reputation to say dumb things'

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman laughed off claims from JD Vance that Democratic rhetoric inspired the two assassination attempts against Donald Trump this summer.

“Who’s actually listening to what Vance says?” Fetterman told NBC News on Sunday.

“He has developed the kind of reputation to say dumb things, pointless things, and offend everybody, and he’s been picked as the most unpopular pick in history, but no one’s listening to him,” he added. “I’m certainly not.”

Last week, Vance said that the lack of assassination attempts against Kamala Harris are evidence that Democratic rhetoric is fueling violence against Trump.

“No one has tried to kill Kamala Harris in the last couple of months, and two people now have tried to kill Donald Trump in the last couple of months,” Vance said at a Faith and Freedom Coalition event last Monday. “I think that’s pretty strong evidence that the left needs to tone down the rhetoric or somebody is going to get hurt.”

Trump has similarly blamed Harris for the attempts on his life: “The Rhetoric, Lies, as exemplified by the false statements made by Comrade Kamala Harris during the rigged and highly partisan ABC Debate...has taken politics in our Country to a whole new level of Hatred, Abuse, and Distrust.”
