Lululemon’s workout-friendly face mask is back in stock – here’s our review
We put the brand’s sweat-wicking face covering to the test
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. As we’re now nearly a year into the pandemic, face masks have become a part of everyday life, and are just as essential when leaving the house as your phone and house keys.
They’re mandatory in almost all public spaces, including on transport and in taxis, shops and supermarkets, secondary schools and after-school clubs.
Having had months to peruse the endless range of designs on offer, it can feel like every brand imaginable has created its own version.

From designer brands to homeware stores, everyone is getting in on the action. Whether you like bold, personalised designs or something more simple, we’ve got you covered in our round-up of where to shop reusable coverings.
Ultimately what we’re looking for is comfortable fabrics that fit well and will cause little to no irritation after hours of wear.
One particular style that has proved popular is by activewear brand Lululemon. Designed with two straps to ensure a snug fit and made in a fitness-friendly fabric, it's repeatedly sold out but is thankfully now back in stock.
Known for its high-performance leggings, sports bras and outerwear, it makes sense that the brand has created a face mask that’s just as high quality.
Not convinced? We’ve tried it out during everyday errands and while running outside, and you can read our review below. But you’ll need to be quick if you’re keen to try it yourself, as we predict it will sellout again very soon.
You can trust our independent reviews. We may earn commission from some of the retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections, which are formed from real-world testing and expert advice. This revenue helps to fund journalism across The Independent.
Lululemon double strap face mask: £10, Lululemon.co.uk
This face covering earned a spot in our guide to the best sports face masks for running or working out in, and our reviewer loved it’s sweat-wicking fabric and form-fitting shape that sat tightly to the contours of their face.
“The centre-front seam also helps lift the mask away from your mouth so you don’t feel like you’re suffocating when running,” they said, adding that “if you have thick, long hair that tends to stay put in a ponytail, we’re sure these straps would easily fit either side”.
There are 18 shades on offer, ranging from cerulean blue and plum pink to olive green and silver.
It’s also one of the most affordable pieces the brand offers – its bestselling leggings can cost upwards of £90. Like most reusable masks, it’s machine washable and Lululemon recommends using a cold setting to keep it in tip-top condition.
