Usually reserved for markets, festivals and dinners out, churros, fresh from the fryer, are the ultimate sweet treat traditionally dusted with cinnamon and sugar and served with dark chocolate dipping sauce.

But we’ve got some good news for fans of the classic Spanish doughnuts. Ahead of Pancake Day and back by popular demand, Aldi is launching its churros maker. Setting you back a mere £14.99, which is cheaper than similar products on the market, notably Amazon sells a very similar-looking machine for £25.99.

Not just a more affordable option, it’s also a great alternative to the classic Shrove Tuesday crepes if you’re not partial to pancakes but still want to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Similar to a standard waffle press, this nifty kitchen essential sold out instantly when the budget-friendly supermarket first introduced it as a special buy in 2019. You’ll have to act fast if you want to get your hands on one (and we’re almost certain you’ll want to) since we predict it’ll fly off the shelves.

Available in black or grey, Aldi claims that it’s easy-to-use and can make up to four churros at a time.

It’s launching online on 7 February and will be available in store from 11 February. What we do know, as is the case with most of Aldi’s special buys, including the new Scallop bed range and the “powerhouse” air fryer, this is an unmissable deal worth snapping up. Prepare to level up your snack-time.

Aldi ambiano churro maker

Whether you’re looking for ways to add a little bit of joy to your working day or want to give your weekend breakfasts a revamp, this churro maker is the ideal addition to your kitchen. According to Aldi, it has a non-stick cooking surface, auto temperature control and indicator lights. But, best of all, there’s no need to worry about hot oil since this takes out the deep-frying hassle often associated with making doughnuts at home.

It’s an easy-to-use kitchen appliance, simply wait for the machine to heat up indicated by the green light turning off, which takes approximately three to five minutes. Once it’s hot, use the included piping bags to pipe the batter into the non-stick plates and leave to cook for two and a half minutes before turning the machine over for a further two and a half minutes. After just five minutes, you’ll have fresh, crispy Spanish doughnuts ready to eat. While the hot plates can’t be removed, the brand claims they are easy to wipe down thanks to the non-stick properties.

With plenty of recipes online, you may want to opt to make your own batter. But we love the look of this chocolate churro kit (Amazon, £12.95), which will make using your new kitchen essential even easier and contains the essentials you need for serving up traditional churro at home.

Launching online on 7 February, we predict a sell-out, so be sure bookmark this page and check back ahead of its release.
