From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Barry breaks down as he discusses loss of daughter

Barry broke down in camp as he told campmates about the death of his daughter, Danika.

“She had leukaemia when I was making the boxing with Daniel Day Lewis, three weeks from the end I had to leave because she’d been diagnosed with leukaemia, they thought she wasn’t going to get better but she fought back and she won it. She had two years of chemo,” he explained.

Revealing his daughter had a second bout of cancer as an adult, Barry said his daughter had “pains in her tummy but she was making the movie, she put it off and went to the doctor, called us all in. Stage four bowel cancer… five weeks she died.”

The rest of the camp then consoled Barry.

Coleen opens up about the Wagatha Christie trial

When asked whether she was scared to post her initial social media statement about her allegations against Rebekah Vardy, which spurred on the Wagatha Christie trial, Coleen answered: “No because I just didn’t think it would have the impact it did, because I was just that sick and tired of it, it was draining.”

She continued: “That was my worst nightmare to go to court. I felt like it was like putting on a show for the whole world.”

Colleen then admitted that she disliked how the trial “became a bit of a joke”.

“That’s really disappointing, it wasn’t a joke for me. No one knew the full story,” she said.
